I think this is quite old card and probably does not support HDCP ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HDCP ). You need DHCP card to play HD discs.

The board I'm using limits me to AGP so I bought the Radeon 3850.... It's an expensive card and it's new so I'm hoping it will work...

EDIT....

"ATI Radeon™ HD 3800 Series GPUs feature ATI Avivo™ HD technology with advanced audio, video processing, display and connectivity capabilities for high definition entertainment solutions. ATI Avivo™ HD technology includes fully integrated HD audio capabilities and supports playback of multi-channel (5.1) audio streams. When combined with the integrated HDCP copy protection, ATI Avivo HD enables a one-cable HDMI™ connectivity solution to high definition home theaters."

Are you saying you have two physical processors or 2 physical cores (1 processor with 2 cores)? If it's 2 physical cores (dual core) you should be fine - If its 2 physical processors (1 core for each processor)- you're in for trouble because none of the programs support it. Run the Cyberlink advisor and tell me what it says http://www.cyberlink.com/english/sup...port/index.jsp BD specs are very picky.

Pardon my ignorance on this, but beside load balancing what difference does it make?

It's the way the programs are written (You should be able to get by with TMT). PDVD and WinDVD are written in such a way only to accept certain CPU's. If your CPU doesn't have the "green light" no matter how powerful - the program will not play the BD. Just tring to help you out - I know how it is configuring a BD HTPC - mine just happend to be ready because I have a tendency to upgrade (especially video cards and soundcards - that's something I need to pray about because I think it borders on obssesiveness)!!!!

Ok, so with the demo of TMT everything works except video from blu ray discs. I'm thinking this is a HDCP thing. I need a beefier power supply and I'll be able to swap out cards.
