RACS is not an option for me.

Quote:
Identification Requirements for International Credit Card Orders: As much as we hated to do it, because of fraudulent orders placed from international destinations, we may now require proof of identification from customers paying with credit card for any order shipped internationally. At our discretion, we may require you to fax us a copy of your ID (drivers license, passport, etc.) along with a physical photocopy of both sides of your credit card or credit card statement before we can complete your order. This is to ensure that you are actually the card holder, and we are shipping the order to the correct person. This will only need to be done on your first order, and you can speed up the process in advance by faxing this info to 1-540-390-0004 (US) or e-mailing it to us after you place your order. Please include your name and/or order number on all pages of your documentation. We apologize in advance for the inconvenience, however, we have been hit with many fraudulent international orders over the years - because we tried to make it easy for international customers to order, the criminals seemed to target us more frequently....
Guess I have to use Amazon or a forwarder from now on for Discotek titles until there's a better alternative since CR store doesn't ship home video products internationally

Hmm, yeah, that's certainly a no for me.

Really not happy with this whole situation...

I am absolutely shocked about RightStuf's store closing. One major detriment for me is that RigjhtStuf enables Paypal's four payment option where, in my experience, Crunchyroll's store does not.

They have Sezzle which is pretty much the same thing as PayPal’s Pin4 option. I don’t recall if there’s a minimum you need to spend at CR to qualify though.

I'm not sure how often Discotek reads this thread, but I run a warehouse that does pick & pack and logistics. I might be able to help or at least provide some suggestions if they're interested in doing their own distribution.

I would feel more comfortable using RACS if their website didn't look like it was from 2006. But I've ordered from once before and the order came fine, just a took a while. I really don't want to buy from Sony's monopoly. I'd be happy to help build healthy competition.

Hard to see CR store stocking Sentai or Discotek releases but at least Sentai has their own webstore. Are we going to be limited to Amazon or RACS?
Discotek also has their eBay store, if they ever decide to re-open it.

I normally would be, but ran out of physical space and I'm gonna be tapped dry money wise after attending a convention.

Unlikely sadly, if anything we should expect less sales and smaller discounts.

Season 6 Part 1 of MHA is going for $60/$70. That’s a Blu-ray + Dvd combo pack. No digital copy since well no FUNimation anymore. That’s on Crunchyroll and Amazon. At that point you might as well just buy the manga. That’s basically $30 for the dvd and $40 for the Blu-ray. Kind of glad, Crunchyroll doesn’t have full control over Jujutsu Kaisen Anime pricing

Archonia in Belgium is also an (fairly expensive) option for Discotek (anime) releases.

Amazon usually lowers the prices close to release date so that should change in a month or two.

I'll make one on the 6th since that's payday for me.

I'm not sure if that's just me misunderstanding the quote or not but that gives me a little hope that maybe the good shipping practices might remain intact?

Taking over Rightstuf's existing warehouse and fulfillment center is the only way this mess makes any sense, honestly. I mean, why even bother to acquire the company in the first place if they were just going to shut the whole thing down and not make use of any part of it? Instead, it seems as if they're going to bolt the Crunchyroll online store frontend to Righstuf's physical facilities - which will make it a lot easier to ship Rightstuf's existing preorders down the line.

I was hoping this would be the case. I wasn't sure if the acquisition was just in an effort to eliminate a competitor and absorb their customer base, especially since Crunchyroll already had their own online store and distribution center operating.

Ebay started an international shipping program acting as the conduit between American sellers and international buyers, so that is an option as well.
