Default Ces 2018

It's almost that time of the year. Some of the biggest announcements in tech are happening during CES 2018. Any members going? I'll be there.

No chance of me making it there, but I hope you have a great time.
Looking forward to hearing what you think of the show this year.

I was really hoping to hear news at CES this year about hdmi 2.1, 8K UHD TVs, 2.1 surround receivers with 8K support or at least 4K tvs/receivers with 12 bit input/output, or 70’’ oled tvs, chearper 4K oled, etc. I haven’t seen first hand but do the Samsung micro led tvs truly live up to claim of being similar to oled in terms of color/bright & dark colors right next to each other but nowhere near the bank emptying price for a 65’’ oled. I’m prob waiting at least 2-3 more years to upgrade my 2014 4K tv due to desire to only upgrade every 5-7 years, wait for new tech, and at least a year after inital tech launch to fix bugs and upgrade new tech slightly. What do you guys think is next for UHD? I was consideeing picking up an Optoma UHD51A when it comes out for less than $2k, pair with Echo dots but don’t think I’ve got a big enough spot unless I put the screen on top of my brick fireplace that I never use. I was really hoping for 8K news, since 4K launched in 2013.
