Just watched Death Wish 3 for the first time,

God bless Michael Winner for unleashing this work of genius upon the cinematic landscape. If the original film was a relatively serious social commentary, and Death Wish 2 a half-hearted attempt to pursue the same themes (whilst cranking up the sleaze and exploitation), then Death Wish 3 is a superhero film in disguise. It literally takes a bazooka and blows any pretense out the window, instead delivering a relentlessly-paced exercise in gun-toting heroics. Charles Bronson was too cool for this world.

"Death Wish 3" definitely evokes a unique feeling of exultant joy in the hearts and minds of men. It's a perfect action fantasy.

Commando, Cobra and Rambo II's ridiculousness has nothing on Death Wish 3.

Most of his best schlock has hit Blu (even The Wicked Lady!), but where the hell is Scream For Help? I would play Death Wish III and Scream For Help on a constant loop. It would be heaven.

Now watch DW4, which is also ridiculous fun.

I actually like 4 a bit more than 3 but they're both amazing.

Death Wish 3 is a rite of passage for bad movie lovers. It's an all time classic!

I've watched Death Wish 3 a lot of times and have no interest at all in the rest of the series. I saw part of the first one, I think. Now I hear 4 might be as silly? Maybe I'll have to check it out.

4 isn't as batshit as 3.

It's more a standard Cannon actioner.

4: The Crackdown was a always a big disappointment to me. Always found it dull, but I haven't seen it in years. I love John P. Ryan as the evil villain in Avenging Force and his performance is very entertaining in Delta Force 2, but he didn't leave much of an impression here. 4 is the one I don't have on DVD or Blu-ray.

I actually always liked Death Wish V: The Face of Death. It has some decent action and Michael Parks was a pretty good villain.

I was renting all of these from Netflix several years ago to see them for the first time. I loved 1-4. The 5th was so bad I couldn't even finish it. I had to turn it off about halfway through. It was dreadful and didn't have nearly the fun factor as the previous sequels.

It's probably the weakest of the 5, but worth watching if you're fan of the series or Bronson in general.
