Default I need a decent HTIB ($300.00) thinking about a ONKYO HT-S3500

I have a very high end gaming PC that has a really nice dedicated audio card and a bluray player. I am currently running a "klipsch promedia 2.1" speaker set on my PC. Tho it sounds fantastic I am obviously missing the 5.1 and I dont have a center so I am missing voice.

Here is what I want to do. I have $300.00 total and I want to get something better then what I got currently. I always shop at newegg so If you could suggest anything HTIB that is under $300.00

I live in an Apartment complex so I cant have a massive booming surround sound. I love clarity and just a hair of bass. Are any of these any good?

So far I have found the

ONKYO HT-S3500: $250.00

Samsung HT-E4500 3D: $250.00

Onkyo makes a good HTIB setup. The one you posted looks good & reads the most important Codecs, DTS Master & Dolby True HD.

The price doesn't look to bad either for going in that direction for a sound system

I've used an Onkyo system before and I was happy with it.

Thanks guys. I kind of figured the ONKYO would be the best choice. I actually got to listen to this setup at someones house & I will admit its a fantastic setup IMO. I am not an Audiophile so I cant comment on others but this one was very loud, had great bass which was to much for my apartment and its crystal clear to me.

you cant go wrong with the onkyo. I bought the s3300 couple of years ago now, I love it as much as the day I bought it, dvds sound good, but blus are fantastic. Had both DTS and True HD. Plus my wife would not let me shell out a ton for it (she hates it go figure), but it rocks literally. Not bad for a downward firing bass and smallish speakers. I dont think you will be sorry in the least.

Yeah I may possibly get that refurb in the link above you for $250.00 but there is a $50.00 shipping fee. The sub in the 5400 is independently powered compared to the 3500

I started with an Onkyo HTiB and it is great. I've since bought a 3D capable receiver after I bought my Panasonic 3D plasma. Still use the speakers from the HTiB.

I own Onkyo S3500. It has a passive sub. But for a medium room it is enough.
If you want to upgrade the HT in future, go for another model.

The performance is very good, especially for movies, for a medium sized room. Feels like room is shaking while playing DTS/DD movies.
For music lovers, this is just average.

It has 4 HDMI input which you can't find in any HTiB @this price

I considered Yamaha YHT 196 and YHT 292 also. But the final choice was Onkyo S3500 as I often watch movies than listening music.

Any reason, besides price that this would be a choice for a PC gamer than this:

http://www.logitech.com/en-us/produc...m-Z906?crid=47

I am really tempted to pull the trigger on the Onkyo for my main gaming PC but didn't know if there was any "gotchas"

Don't bother with the logitech, you can get a lot better for that price.
