I just saw Synapse say on their Facebook page under a post for this film that they currently had no plans for LEMORA. For the experts here: should we take that as a bluff or is that really the last word?

That's a bummer. If you have no interest in releasing the movie and are busy with vintage porn anyway, the only decent thing to do is sell the rights to someone who is going to do something with it. I do believe though, that a Blu-ray release was considered at one point, even if one was never officially announced. Didn't they post a photo of the restoration work on Facebook a few years ago?

I saw today that Bruno Terrier Bava mentioned on the Hammer Horror on Blu-ray Facebook page that producer Robert Fern is asking too much for the rights. There's no confirmation that this is accurate, but if they did loose the rights and another company picks it up, at least it will get an HD release on Blu.
The header on this thread should now read, "Lemora: A Child's Tale of the Supernatural (1973) NOT coming from Synapse" Last edited by CountYorgaRules; 07-28-2020 at 12:31 AM. |

Has Christian Muth been on here recently to verify this? If LEMORA's scan was progressing nicely at one point, why is this release now being denied per Synapse?

Ok so he's saying he did not "announce" it. I've been following this since 2015 and you can look back to the start of this thread. He posted a picture of the restoration work being done. Someone comments on the post telling Don this is great news and asks if we can expect a BD this year (being 2015) and he responds "depends on the restoration needed". Then we hear nothing for a while. Then the mysterious Christian Muth posts on here that the transfer of LEMORA was progressing nicely. And then, just recently, the Synapse Facebook page says "no plans" instead of "still in production", which I know they have said in response to inquiries in the past.
So no formal announcement, no barcode, etc, yes. But WTF was all this I just mentioned here about and why jerk us around for years? Last edited by TheWildWon; 08-28-2020 at 03:20 AM. |

Now he says "we were looking into it". They were working and moving along on a new 4K scan! That's contradiction if I've ever heard it!
