Looks like Kino did some additional color correction on the first Emmanuelle

In the tennis scene, in the Optimum/SC version the white is yellow, whereas it's white in the Kino version.

I bought the first two films a little while ago. The first film I saw ages ago, the second one was a blind buy which I got around to watching tonight. I kind of put it on as a lark thinking it might be corny "mom porn", but holy shit it turned out to actually be really good. The sex scenes were beautifully shot and the musical score was amazing, I found myself being enthralled at times at just how well done this was from an artistic point of view.

And they succeeded admirably. The Anti-Virgin lives up to its title and its ambitions.

The third one however is a totally different animal. Brand new writer-director and his female co-writer, and it's like they saw the first 2, they hated them intensely, and then they decided to take over and sabotage and undo everything that the initial diptych stood for.

They took the happy slut that banged anything with a pulse and they made her "fall in love" with some douchebag who makes her renege her slutty ways and her pimp/husband. An absolute disgrace.

Yeah, I just watched the third one. After recently watching the second film, which I thought was amazing, the third film was a huge letdown. There was one decent sex scene in the whole movie (Emmanuelle and Gregory on the beach), every other one they just start and cut away after a minute or so.

I also had a problem with the message of the film which condemns Emmanuelle for the lifestyle that she and her husband lovingly share.

[Show spoiler]In addition to pushing her into a more monogamous relationship with Gregory after he shames her because of his own failure to live out such a lifestyle, there is another character who would rather imagine his wife being mauled to death by a shark than be with another man, plus a woman who happily shows off the black eye she was given by her husband because he caught her sitting on another man's lap!

So I bought these like a month ago. 1-3.

and just the first one.

Holy shit was the same music overused many times in the first one.

[Show spoiler]And I'm also confused wtf the point of that rape scene was cuz Emmanuelle is totally fine after that.

Beyond that... I think I enjoyed it. Contextually speaking, I can see the film's value in history. And Kristal is visually iconic in this first film. That short hair on her makes her that much more memorable.
