Default Distributor Contacts/Help with improving iTunes Content

I think it is long passed time for a thread where we can organise email/social media campaigns to get distributors to pull ipntheir socks and improve the content and attitude in all iTunes Stores.

Post here if you want help/want to help put an end to unnecessary relisting, get more movies upgraded, movies added, iTunes Extras added, alternate cuts added and upgraded to 4K.

If anyone has contact details for other distributors (or better ways to contact the above) please let me know and I will add them.

It doesn’t matter what country you are in or what store you use - people in the US can email distributors about the UK, Singapore, etc. Stores and vice versa.

We can also get Apple to pay attention to things we want in iTunes. Personally I’m going mad from wanting movies tagged with the correct genre, the ability to organise a movie library like with playlists or by series, and most of all proper Family Sharing where I can decide to not share a specific movie and it does not appear on my Family Share.

As Rik1138 preciously advised we need to contact distributors about each movie individually even if a movie is part is a series where they all have the same issue. This increases the volume of messages and customer service cannitbignore is.

To start with the following movies are missing Dolby Atmos in the Irish and UK. I’ve already emailed Paramount but nothing will happen unless more people do so too. If you use a different Store please post and I will add it - I still have the draft emails and it is no bother for me to email again about a different iTunes Store.

Star Trek (2009)
Star Trek Into Darkness
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2014)

The following Universal movies were upgraded to 4K in the US but no where else as far as I know

The Mummy
The Mummy Returns
The Mummy: Tomb of Dragon Emperor

The Great Wall
Gladiator (extended version) - Gladiator (theatrical cut) was removed from the Irish Store. I think we would all like it returned, upgraded to 4K and gave the extended cut and extras added to it like in the US.

Missing Fox movies:
Ireland and the UK only have the theatrical version of The Passion of the Christ with no extras. Help getting Fox the US edition would be great.

I also have a personal request. MGM has not added the James Bond bundles to Irish Store except for the Craig Set. This has not prevented them from placing the same limited time price promotion on the Irish Store that the UK has. I can find no way to contact MGM from here so I used the the iTunes Feedback form (https://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html) to request Apple help. If people could use this firm to just say “please add the Janes Bond bundles to the Irish Store” that would be cool. If anyone knows how I can contact MGM please let me know. I believe they are meant to be available in Ireland and that it is a simple administration error when creating the listing.

Please post about anime issues you want help with.

Also post when you have contacted the distributors. And you should always include a paragraph that the issue is not Apple’s responsibility- that saves time because customer service always try to blame Apple.

Maybe include your email or message when when you post her. Others can just copy and paste it.

Chopper got us Jaws in 4K by contacting Universal all by himself.

If more had helped we would have got it sooner.

A large group of us can do that.

Also I have been in touch with Manga UK on previous occasions.

They are very interested in feedback on their iTunes movies. I’ve been told that if if people contact them voicing their desires for their content - like upgrades, original Japanese audio, extras, etc. - that this will help them decide on what to do with content in the future.

Nothing from Disney?

For some reason we don't have portuguese subtitles on ~95% of releases from Disney on iTunes (old and new) here in Portugal. I don't think is on purpose so people avoid iTunes and subscribe to Disney+. They release everything with subtitles and portuguese audio on other stores (Google Play, etc.) and they started doing this in 2017, 3 years before Disney+ was available here in Portugal. Makes no sense.

Some movies have portuguese audio and subtitles in the spanish store (our neighbor country) but not here

I have a list of movies to ask about too. Even more questions now that these upgrades are happening.

Now could be an important time to ask about subtitles - edited they modify the movies in your store.

So if anyone has a contact option for Disney - please tell.

I recently had to contact Lionsgate about a redemption issue in iTunes. They were very responsive and helped solve my issue within a day.

Yes, i really hope we also get the movies in 4K. In the Apple TV website some Disney movies appear as HD and HDR. But in the app and on the iTunes website or iTunes Store is not. I hope is not just a bug but a good sign for a upgrade very soon!

I was certain the Disney+ app on AppleTV last week what was showing me what was in 4K but tonight everything is showing as HD.

Hi How do I contact the content providers for the James Bond collections for the Irish iTunes Store, they have only been selling the Daniel Craig collection for years now while other EU stores have all the collections and now they have an advertisement in the Irish iTunes Store saying James Bond bundles at limited time prices with only one collection in it, I have been in contact with iTunes but they have the worst customer service ever, they just blame the content providers, please help.

Thank goodness, I've been for another of us to show up to help sort this.

I mentioned this in the first post.

MGM dies not seem to have a European wing and calling the US would end up costing as much as buying the set full price. There is no email.

On Sunday I used the iTunes Feedback Form to ask Apple for help in reaching out to MGM because the never issued our store the other bundles. There is a team at Apple that is supposed to help with these things but I cannot find the contact details. I was just hoping that the feedback got to them

On Monday promotion appeared on the store.

I have no idea why there are two Craig bundles at different. They also have a banner showing the price in sterling (same with Face/Off).

I'm thinking that the fact that MGM issued the promotion to the Irish Store is a sign that we are supposed to have the bundles and that MGM made an error in uploading them. This has happened many times - Spider-Man 2, Akira, Maze Runner series, etc.

Alas I have no idea what to do about it or who to call.

It is not Apple that is to blame but the distributor.

We have some small progress. Not the missing bundles but someone has removed the duplicate Daniel Craig bundle (the €22.99 one) and the banner showing it as £19.99 has been replaced with a new one showing €19.99.

I’m suspecting Apple corrected that themselves.

Im going to try contact Apple Media Services today. If I can get a phone number I will let you know. More calls they get the better.

Just to give an example of how a group can make a difference when dealing with distributors.

The Last Castle has been missing from the Irish Store.

I had contact Paramount and been told that The Last Castle wa abesent for licensing reasons.

I emailed them again and asked that they double check the facts as I was certain it disappeared during the 4K upgrade. I also made a complaint with a different email. Two other Irish forum members and two from the UK also emailed Paramount just yesterday.

About ten minutes ago I got a reply from Paramount saying they had decoded to "open the film up" and that it would be available soon.

The Last Castle is already back and in 4K Dolby Vision.

Easy as pie.

Regarding to Paramount, they have lots of films in non-US countries (UK, Australia, Asian countries such as Singapore) that does not provide English subtitles/CC:
- Rocketman (UK, AU, SG)
- Mission Impossible 4 - 6 (SG)
- War of the worlds (UK, AU, SG) (missing Atmos as well)
- Like A Boss (UK, AU, SG)
-‎ Sonic The Hedgehog (UK, AU, SG)
- A Quiet Place (SG)
- Overlord (SG)
- Bumblebee (SG), (also no Atmos in UK & AU)
- Downsizing (Scandinavian countries)
- mother! (SG, Scandinavian countries)
- Ghost in the Shell 2017 (SG, Scandinavian countries)

There should be much more.
I e-mailed them twice and had no reply so far.

Subtitles and closed captions are something which I would not think about but something that many, many people would want and need.

It should be a standard on all English language movies.

Do they movies you have listed have subtitles and closed captions in some countries ?

I will send some emails today.

By "no reply" do you mean nothing at all or that there was an automated response but nothing else?

You have an email for MGM???

Another forum member told me today that someone they knew bought the Bond collection on blu-ray and there was problem with the digital codes.

He contacted Sony (they were the distributor for the Craig movies and I think the only support listed on the packaging).

After a lot of back & forth about it Sony eventually gave him new digital codes for ALL the Bond movies.

So I email them yesterday about it. A very long shot but I thought why not?
