Default Recommendation needed for portable CD player

I'm currently looking or a brand new portable CD player, and I found the (HOTT CD611) to be convenient enough for me (or so I thought), according to the products info on Amazon you can charge it via batteries or USB or AC adapter.
The problem is some of the reviews are quite discouraging, so anyone can recommend me a good portable CD player?

RCA, Sony Walkman - Try Philips, also try a thrift or electronics discount store.

My recommendation would be to get USB cd/dvd drive and rip to a media device.

I prefer physical media, not digital

I understand that. Bearing in mind that a: CDs are digital and b: Just about any current media player will outperform any current portable CD player, these look fun:

(If the link doesn't work try searching "Techmoan Album wall art that plays itself - km5 CP1 wall-hanging CD player")

Don't go with a media player. Yes, They may be able to play better than regular CD players, but they are not perfect. And you have to get completely uncompressed files to do that. Plus, I have found that even with uncompressed, lossless files the sound is not as good as a really good cd player with excellent headphones and a headphone amp. It's hard to beat the early Discmans that came out back in the day. Those heavy-duty metal ones that take 4 batteries have some really hard-to-beat impressive sound. The 801s or the 808ks are really good. And you can find them on eBay at reasonable prices. The media players or "DAPS" are going to run you a solid chunk of money to get really good sound from your collection. Stick with CD players. Best bargain and sound for your money.
