He has confirmed multiple times that they are two separate things, both on Twitter and as recently as the Animazement panel a little under two weeks ago. What we know about the other Kickstarter is that it (at least as of 2022) has never been released in HD and its announcement has been repeatedly put on hold because it has changed ownership in Japan multiple times in the last year.

The "changed ownership multiple times in the last year" part is news to me; that seems like it would be pretty unusual. I wonder if it makes it possible to guess who might be involved?

Random guess: AIC. They’ve had a number of mergers, splits, and bankruptcies over the last couple of years that finally appear to be settling down. They were also involved in Bubblegum Crash, AD Police, and Vampire Princess Miyu, all titles AnimEigo has previously put out on DVD, and all three were developed at Tokyo Lab, and as such could have been part of the A-ko Vault.

The reward tiers seem a little nuts price wise. I can't believe someone actually did the $1000 one.

I agree, and the way they divided up the perks between tiers is kind of confusing too.

It may have been new information at the AZ panel. IIRC he specifically said it changed hands twice. He also said that the story behind all the delays is "morbidly funny" but he can't tell it until it's announced, of course.

15 days left to go, $18,000 (and eighty) earned out of 50K? Even with the traditional Last Moment Bump, looks like this one is falling short too.

Sadly it just doesn't seem to get the promotion it needs. Really can't promote it on ANN since it is imo anime inspired.

The campaign has been picking up speed over the last few days. They're almost at $30,000 now with 7 days to go. They might make it, but it's going to be tight!

I’m really curious if they’ll be able to do it. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a Kickstarter not go over budget during production, but hey, I’m more than willing to be proven wrong.

I think they really should have priced the LE's a little lower but a win is a win haha.

I'm not expecting them to pull through on it. Hope I'm wrong. Too many trinkets and additions late in the game, including an update saying the upper tier edition comes in a metal case.

I backed and hope they pull through, but I agree with your comment on there being too many add-ons and physical rewards. I feel like they're going to run into trouble with the cost/reality of small print runs for items and storage/packing/shipping is going to be a logistical nightmare.

yeah, I didn't like the way that Kickstarter was setup, it looked too risky for me, so I stayed out of it. Seems like that would be one that ends up taking 3 years for them to complete. It wasn't really the kind of anime I would be interested in anyway. Hopefully everything works out OK for those that backed it.

I saw that and it seems like the creator kind of just gave up...

I backed early on but there were no updates at all. I don't know anything about budgets for that kind of project but it seemed high from the beginning.

I imagine a lot of people like myself that wanted the vinyl just imported the 2022 Japanese release already which I assume these were but with a box added. It was a bit high in my opinion of a goal for what it was. Wonder if they imported a bunch them or got a bunch on wholesale thought they could make some money or something.

That’s disappointing, I’ve recently been monitoring Grylu Sker (non-anime so not related to this thread), and I’m like “this amount of money in this many days?”, why don’t this Kickstarters give more time for donations? Well, maybe they can try again with BC, they probably didn’t have enough advertising for the project
