![]() Thank you for voicing your concerns to them, but seriously, without paragraphs, that's seriously hard to read. I'm just saying. I do agree 100% with everything you said. Last edited by mar3o; 08-22-2013 at 01:23 PM. |

I watched both movies yesterday. I never was a fan of "Jason Goes To Hell: The Final Friday" while "Jason X" always used to be one of my favorites. But I actually kind of enjoyed JGTH yesterday while was quite bored by "Jason X". The interior of the spaceship and the guns / weapons rather seemed like "plastic" to me and the whole movie felt kind of "cheap". I really enjoyed it a lot more when I watched it years ago.
Just in case anyone cares: I made a few screenshots (compressed as JPG files) of both movies... Jason Goes To Hell: The Final Friday Jason X To watch them at full resolution choose "..." (lower right corner) and then click the square above. |

If Jason Goes To Hell is the rated cut, that's a real shame, but its not a deal breaker. There's 11 other movies in the set haha.
I know some of you already have 1-3. I am a big fan of the series, but personally I waited for a set like this, cuz you know its inevitable. (or for all of them to be available, which Paramount DID have plans for 4-6 for Oct 2009, but dropped them). So i only own Freddy Vs. Jason & the remake cuz i figured those would never be in a box set. Sucks I'll be double dipping on what are likely the exact same discs, but that's on me, not Warner Bros. And you gotta realize, this is Warner's FIRST release of this franchise. So its all new to them. Whatever Paramount released in the past, that's not on Warner Bros. I prefer the rated cut of 1, so...i guess i'm not disappointed there. I still have my DVD of the uncut version of Hell and according to everyone here, its available digitally in HD. And if they ever release it uncut and its by itself or something on blu i'm sure it'll be a measely 7.99 or something. Its a misstep, but not one to warrant bringing the wrath of god upon WB. I'm sure they have their reasons. I don't think "hey, let's piss off the fans" was the mentality going in. None of us know what happened producing this set, but we all seem to be pretty positive we know whatever it was, was done with the worst possible intentions. If you want the set, get it. If you don't, save your money. All Friday the 13th movies available in their theatrical form in HD finally is better than none. There's always a "better" way to do it, yeah. But, it took this long to get these things out in the first place, do you really think they're gonna turn around and do another box set quickly? You're getting parts 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12 that you've always been familiar with(and most of us the first one's theatrical cut). if one of them that is usually unrated but is now the theatrical cut...which, honestly...is the only thing they're obligated to deliver...is it worth crying so much and canceling a preorder on 11 other films you want? Its funny that Jason Goes to Hell...notoriously on most peoples "Most hated list" is now a deal breaker for this set to people. Last edited by btpeters; 08-22-2013 at 01:38 PM. |

Some of us refuse to do digital copies or downloads, so that argument holds no water for them trying to sell me a Blu-ray set if I can't watch the Blu-rays!
I'll still buy In The Mouth of Madness as it's a favorite, but will be buying less WB titles and trying to get hem used if all this shit is true. WB has avoided my shitlist til now. I don't mind a few lossy audio tracks as my ears aren't great from years of music, but refusing to release unrated things they have already is too much to let slide. If I had a 3D TV I'd be even more angry about part 3. Why is everything I hear about this getting worse and worse? **** you if all this is true WB. Hope you read this, hope you make a snarky remark on facebook about it, Hope you go out of biz cuz of it! |

I understand if someone perhaps doesn't own many yet (which I'm sure some could argue means they're not a "hardcore fan") and finds this set to be well-priced but your attitude toward the most hardcore of fans has been to call them "nitpicky" or refer to them "whining." If you're attempting to impress Warner Brothers by showing them that you can be just as inconsiderate of what fans want as Warner is, I suggest you just apply for a job with them through traditional channels rather than being dismissive and rude toward fans (who - it seems - could be argued to be more "hardcore" ones than you are) - all while you act like it's just your opinion. It stops being "just your opinion" when you start making value judgments about the validity of other people's concerns as an excuse to dismiss them. Enjoy the box set and stop being dismissive toward those who might not. |

Yes, it's funny how the "point of contention" has morphed from No 3D to No unrated JGTH. As for Part I, I'm pretty sure 99% of the people buying this set already own Part I, so you can swap the disc. Not ideal, but at least that fixes one problem. A few extras are not being ported over from the dvds? And? This has been happening since the dawn of Home Video. I'll never understand how this, in 2013, this still astounds some people. I'll be getting the Crystal Lake Memories, which is loaded with extra material...in fact, it's ALL extra material! Again not an ideal fix, but when you look at the big picture most fans will have more F13 BD material than they did on 9/12/13. JGTH no unrated...a shame, but certainly not a dealbreaker. A year ago, this movie was shite...now in the span of 1 month it's become the Holy Grail of the F13 franchise. Give me a break. Yeah between this set($70.97) and a 30-40 autographed BD of CLM($42.99), I can't really complain. But that's just me. ![]() |

I have never said Jason Goes to Hell was terrible, it's different but it's much better than X, Freddy vs. Jason and the remake in my opinion. But I do agree that the people who are now crying about it not being uncut have bashed it in the past in this thread.

I made the comment about "hardcore" fans because so many are using that excuse as to why they need jgth uncut or refuse to purchase the set. To me a "hardcore" fan would quit whining and crying about the crappiest shitfest of the series being uncut and realize how nice a set this is.

I think it's rather obvious (regardless of what the random customer service associates at the WB shop say) that discs 1 through 4 of this set will be the previously released Blu-ray discs (minus 4 of course cause that never came out but it was supposed to at one point so this must just be that already authored disc) that most of us had. Meaning that part 1 will be the uncut version. It may not say that on the packaging but I really don't feel we need to worry about that. From that point on they obviously had to make new discs cause those are the double feature ones (5,6-7,8-9,10). As far as JGTH is concerned it really depends which version was actually given an HD transfer within the past few years. If an unrated version does exist in HD then we may get lucky. However, if both exist we may just get the R-Rated theatrical version. Look at the double feature sets coming out in Canada. Those will probably each have 2 discs which means they were the previously created Blu-ray discs (regardless of the fact that 4 never got released). Oh and 1 more thing. Some of these WB Shop people could be at home associates that just work from their house and know nothing more than what is listed on pages in front of them. My wife works for Starwood Hotels from home and she is told to tell customers that she is either at the hotel or a call center. The customers don't know she works from home. That is just the way it works. Don't be so harsh on them they don't know any more than you do.

So, if you were smart or had the will power and waited for the inevitable set of all these films together, rather than purchase each individual one knowing they're going to do something later...that makes you not a "hardcore fan" haha.
I've owned these multiple times on VHS and DVD. My apologies if I was patient when it came to the Blu-ray renditions because of past knowledge on how they release these and am excited for this set. I think your concerns are indeed valid. But end of the world they are not. And the vile way they're being expressed by some people on here makes for an entertaining read to say the least. I enjoy Rich1983's take, as he's fully aware of where he stands personally and doesn't blame Warner Bros for his past purchases. Last edited by btpeters; 08-22-2013 at 04:31 PM. |
