So will 3 be real 3-D this time?

Wow! It's funny, I was just reading a thread on here speculating about the distribution deal POSSIBLY meaning an eventual box set. Never imagined to hear it announced this soon... Just as I'm scratching stuff off of my To Buy List, more stuff I just HAVE TO HAVE.

I am getting this. I just wish WB would have give us a better Nightmare on Elm street collection on blu-ray.

I second this statement. I have been on this site everyday since 2008 waiting for this announcement.

I kind of do not think so. Hopefully I am wrong, but I have a feeling the first three will be the exact discs that are on the market right now.

I hate having to hold onto the old special edition DVD's to find out if they port over the commentaries. The part 3, 3-D blu-ray notoriously did not port over the commentary from the special edition DVD.
With this particular franchise, I like holding onto my old DVD now a days, because I am a collector, of this franchise.

I HIGHLY doubt it... I have a feeling (based on this being from the distribution deal) that the first 3 movies will be the existing blu-ray releases, so, no new 3-d....

Good news, but I'll wait till it drops around $50 or less. It will happen, its Warner Bros.

My purchasing this hinges on Part 3 being in digital 3D instead of anaglyph. No digital 3D, no buy.

I actually made an error. The part 3 commentary is actually on the "From Crystal Lake to Manhattan" DVD box set. It was never ported onto the more recent special edition 3-D DVD's.

The series has a weird history of releasing certain features on certain releases, it's almost like a lottery. I also believe one of the sequels from that DVD box set features a different commentary than it's "special edition" re-release counterpart.

Great news they are releasing this on 9/13...bad news is that it's on my wife's B-day and she won't let me ruin her day by watching them.

If the case going to be similar to the Mad Max metal case, I'd bet it has a regular, UK thickness case, inside to house each disc and the booklet, the patch, etc.

But I'm bummed that I have to re-buy the 4 that I already own.

What do you think the odds are on seeing single editions, or those "double features" be released separately?

Probably equally as good as seeing single edition/double feature discs from the "Nightmare" set being released separately.

Yeah, that's super weak. They should all be on individual discs, or all paired up as double features. Pure laziness on Warner's part.

Jason Lives, The New Blood, Jason Takes Manhattan, The Final Chapter, and Friday the 13th Part 3, A New Blood all had new commentary tracks on their deluxe edition DVD releases. Parts 3, 6, 7, and 8 had commentary tracks on the Crystal Lake to Manhattan set that were not on the Deluxe Editions, which had new ones.

It was probably cheaper for Warner which in turn will be cheaper for us. I'm fine with it.

Notice all the single discs are already available, so they are probably going to be the same ones available now, the rest are new to blu, and are double features, excluding F13-4 which will probably only be a single disc because they had an odd number...

I'm bummed that I'll have extra copies of all the other Blus, but I'm still all over this. This was one of my most anticipated upcoming releases. I've been checking the other thread every day for about the past two months.

i could live with this. im happy that freddy vs jason and the remake are in the set. i own 1-3 already and have no problem buying this set. i would have been disapointed if they hadnt made this set complete and left out any of the movies. really looking forward to getting this
