If Discotek won't do chipboard box collector sets for us, I wish they'd at least release more of their titles in steelbooks.

But, I am multiregion capable on two Blu-ray players and three computers with Blu-ray drives at home, so I can easily import UK Collector's Editions of any Discotek titles such as that Gunbuster CE release, if I like the anime. I don't ever need to worry about region coding on Blurays.

As a European, I'll trade you all the fancy Anime Limited collector's editions for Discotek titles being available here at not exorbitant prices.

But serious question, why is it much more expensive to import BDs from the US to Europe than the other way around? I'm talking Rightstuf vs Anime On Line or All the Anime.

UK retailers somewhat subsidize international shipping as part of promotions, as the increase in international sales is worth it, while Rightstuf doesn't bother outside of Canada. For example, All the Anime has free international shipping if you hit £100 during major sales.

The US also has no import taxes/customs for personal use until you hit $800 in a single shipment. That adds on at least another 10% to the total cost for EU/UK residents.

There's a new French anime label called Tanuko. They will be releasing French and English translated single-run limited editions that will be sold exclusively on their website.

The first titles will be revealed on July 3.

Hey, if it’s stuff that doesn’t have a Blu-ray release in North America or the UK, and is translated into English, I’d certainly be interested. Just depends on what they get.
