Thanks, it really hits you hard just how vicious this virus is. It attacks the brain also which I hadn’t given much thought to before. Thankfully, that side of things is ok now but I suspect the road to recovery may be more drawn out than my family and I anticipated. Baby steps and getting them better for Christmas would be a start.

Thanks for your kind words. You guys have been very supportive.

I didn't watch Ready Player One and I'm not excited about Ready Player Two, so I guess I'll pass on both. Too many Super Hero's and Game Movies......I'm more into Quentin Tarantino and Martin Scorsese. I say let's get back to some good basic Story Telling. Maybe I'll write up a script!

You would need a co-writer willing to change it!

I will never dismiss luck since there are a lot of things outside our control that can change stuff. But there is a lot more then luck that plays a role. There is also decisions and work ethic.

I also don't have bottomless pockets, the difference is instead of spending 10k on a trip for 4/5 I would rather keep that money and spend it on films and videogames. Instead of spending money on a new car last year I spent it on a new projector and the car can wait.....

it was mostly music but I would consider quadraphonic (4 speakers- one in each corner) of the early 70's as surround sound

Monday is thanksgiving holiday here in Canada. It really sucks not to be able to have everyone Here. Even though it will be just the three of us I decided to get and make a Turkey. I will then make care packages for my GF ex and kids and one for my middle sister and her family.

Just for a update, my sister is back in hospital (I can’t remember if I told you guys she got out, I don’t know where I am at the moment). She blacked out so no choice but to go back in. She has had COVID for 23 days now. Her hubby is still in hospital and on oxygen.
I am so sorry to hear and wish them both well, and yes you did tell us she was back home. Keep the hope alive and now we are doing the same for them.

What for Troll 3?

Previously discussed
[Show spoiler]Utah is birthplace of the worst film of all time.

This atrocious film proves a few things. First, a movie can be called “Troll 2” even though it has no trolls in it and it has no connection to the original “Troll” film. Second, it’s possible to score a 0 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Third,“Troll 2” is so stunningly bad that it has attracted a cult following and spawned an award-winning documentary called “Best Worst Movie.” Written and directed by an Italian named Claudio Fragasso (who used a pseudonym, which is telling), the movie boasts bad acting, bad dialogue, bad jokes and bad costumes.

I agree. I very much enjoyed watching the 3D blu-ray; I have yet to try the 4K disc.

I have also listened to the audio book narrated by Wil Wheaton and that was a lot of fun, too.

I am looking forward to reading, or listening, to the new novel as well as seeing a sequel movie if that comes to pass.

Ready Player One, is a great film adaption to show people that don't like super hero movies or generally not into science fiction. It's highly entertaining. Recently we also heard that Tron: Ares is moving forward now. https://twitter.com/JaredLeto/status...42225320501249

Agreed. I'm constantly railing against modern sci-fi and super hero flicks 'cuz I feel like I'm watching someone else play a video game, and I tune right out during huge action sequences. But with Ready Player One -- when I'm literally watching one big video game -- I'm completely engaged. It's a credit to Spielberg's storytelling abilities.

That's why Movies are Subjective, one person can love it the next it's not for them. Southern Utah has some great weather, and the Studios make a lot of Movies and TV Shows here. So of course you will have some bad ones, and some good ones. I liked Joe Dirt I have both of them in my Collection....Give me more David Spade!

I am late to the conversation today as I was working all day, so sorry about that. I definitely agree that movies or any kind of art for that matter are subjective, but it is somewhat interesting that you dismiss a Spielberg movie which everyone who has posted so far has enjoyed it (including myself), but you want more David Spade movies???

My evil ISP is raising their rates again Nov. 1st.

I thought that maybe during a pandemic they would forego their annual screwing of their customers, but I was kidding myself obviously.

Its because he pretends to know a subject, just to inject himself into a discussion.

Appreciating any art such as a film is subjective as you know, but before you can appreciate or render a critique you need to actually view the art to understand the details and concept it involves which he hasn't.

JohnAV I don't pretend to know anything, I just think Super Hero and Game Movies are overdone they are not for me anymore. You guys could enjoy them, that is why Movies are Subjective. As for Spielberg he hasn't signed on yet for the sequel. Hollywood just likes to jump on Movies that they think will make money and are the trend, but if that is what you guys like go for it!
