Default Arsenic and Old Lace (1944)

This year was a missed opportunity for the 70th anniversary release of this Halloween gem with a delightful Cary Grant!

"This is developing into a very bad habit!"

Classic Cary Grant.

Maybe next year for the 75th? I don’t think there’s any HD master; even Vudu doesn’t have one.

It’s $4.99 SD in iTunes now, so I think I’ll pick it up. The first time I watched it was in 6th grade English after we read the play. Such a great movie. Made me a Cary Grant fan right away. I can’t believe it’s not in HD, but I’m pretty sure me buying it in SD on iTunes will mean that the HD version will follow in a few months based on past experience. I’d definitely buy a 75th anniversary blu-ray day one if they put one out.

I'm really hoping that this and Destination Tokyo show up on WAC sooner rather than later. At least the latter is available to stream in HD.

Classic Cary Grant movies not available in HD in this day and age is as ridiculous as it is depressing.

I'd be surprised if Criterion didn't have it.

Actually, yes, I'd say you're almost certainly right.

Either way, pleeeeeeease, for the love of God, let it see the light of day!

I saw this for the first time about four months ago, and absolutely loved it. It's about as off-the-wall as black comedies get.

And, for once, Peter Lorre wasn't the creepiest guy in the movie.

Criterion needs to release this, tout suite!

Halloween 2019 will be 75 years after the release of Arsenic and Old Lace.
We need the Blu-ray then!
