Default What was your first car?

Year/Make/Model

What year did you get it/how old were you? How long did you have it/why'd you get rid of it?

I'm sure most people (or at least just guys) have fond memories of their first car, and stories to share about it. So let's hear them.

My first car was an '88 Honda Accord. I bought it when I was 16 (in 2000), before I even had a license (it also had a manual transmission, which, at the time, I didn't even know how to drive...I just thought it was cool).

I jokingly (and misleadingly) referred to it as "The Sexmobile" throughout high school.

During junior year (in 2001, after saving up more money) I bought a '91 Nissan 300ZX, and used this car more often during the spring/summer (and used the Honda for the wet fall and winter months).

(Mine looked pretty much like this one...stock except for some exhaust upgrades that the previous owner did, and an upgraded stereo and speakers...but the paint wasn't as nice)

I stopped driving the Honda by college (and replaced it with a '92 Audi), but left it parked in the street. One day it was gone, and I found out it was towed away because people thought it was an abandoned car. When I went to the impound lot to pick it up, the windows had been smashed, and the stereo/speakers which I had installed were stolen out of it. Kind of surprising considering the impound lot was surrounded by tall barbed wire. I smell a conspiracy. Anyhow, because of that, I let them keep the car, and the Sexmobile was no more.

I still have the Nissan, but haven't driven it in probably 4 years now. Now that I'm done with school, I'll probably treat it as my little project car, to mess around with on weekends in the garage (it could use a new paint job too). I'm fond of the T-top.

September of my senior year in high school, 2003.

First car was a white 1999 Mercury Cougar V6 bought for $4,500 - the "Cougy" as it was affectionately known for the year it lasted.

First year of college, due to the near mechanical failure of the Cougar (one year) I was given my mother's 2000 Mitsubishi Galant. Early Christmas, as in Thanksgiving I received as a graduation present (albeit late) - a brand new 2004 Mitsubishi Galant! "Michelle" - and with her I have 4 years of memories, and could never trade her or drive another car until her death. My pops gave me his '02 Ford Expedition three years ago to have as well since he never used the damn thing and had gotten a smaller car, but then with gas prices last year I stopped using it (only used it when I needed it as it was) and gave it to my sister when she turned 17 this past September.

to a (these are all random internet photos) to my current one (actual photo).

Of course I've hispanic-ized the thing to death, but only visually.

I do not remember the exact year but it was a beat-up Ford Grenada that had 150,000 miles on it. The windshield leaked when it rained and the power steering was shot. Thankfully when I turned seventeen I got a brand new Toyota Celica GT-S...

My First:

4WD Toyota Tercel...me and my buddies used to load this sucker up on Thursday nights and go snowboarding early in the morning on Fridays...for about 3 years of my high school...I loved that car..
then the tranny started going out so I donated it...
and bought this guy:

Honda Civic hatchback...put about 170,000 on it over the course of my early twenties till I was 24.
traded it in for this:

Dodge Dakota 4WD V8..my first V8...then, I couldn't afford the gas after about 13 months...sold it and bought this..

my 1999 Toyota Camry...drove this guy for about 6 years...i still have it..great vehicle...
just this last summer...I finally gave in...I have been saving up for a few years to buy a full size truck and I can actually afford it now..

2006 Nissan Titan...this is my exact truck..minus the roll bar along the bed...I love it!!!

Mine was a 1998 Mercury Sable LS in cobalt blue, purchased in 2002. I was 35 and had never previously needed a car living and working in London, England. In the end the deal breaker was the cd changer in the trunk. Worked well until I effed the wheelbearings.

I got it From my parents about a month before my 16th birthday. Could drive that car all week long on a tank of gas. Wish I still had it. Kept it till I got my next car at 18. A White '83 Camaro with t-tops.

93 Hyundai Scoupe that was supposed to last me through college but only made it 2 years before I dumped it. 93 hp 1.5L 4-cyl.

I have since made up for it with a 140hp truck then a 260hp car and now one of my cars is at 475 RWHP.

My first car was a 1978 Honda Civic. It was a good little car, but it only lasted 5 months before I totalled it. I was only 16 when I had it. That was back in the mid 80's

This thread is making me feel old...

My first car was a 1972 Datsun 510. Great little beater that I paid $300 for. Had it for two years and sold it for $400. What a deal!

My father gave me his Plymouth Turismo that I drove to university from 86-89. What a POS!

Had two new Hondas after that. A prelude from 89-99 and an accord from 99-08.

This year I finally broke the mold and bought a German car. I currently own a BMW 135i. Best car I've ever owned by far.
