I've reached out to Diabolik to let them know where to enquire to get first pressings / limited copies next time.

So of the versions at Amazon, and this is more Amazon's fault for having a sloppy design regarding similar products entries, but is the one currently stocked and sold by Amazon.de a single-disc version of the german only master? There is a listing for a "2-disc exclusive mediabook - limited to 800 pieces including long version" but it is only stocked by third parties and not through Amazon. Is this to assume all the 1200 piece with film are gone. The 800 pieces option is the remaining deluxe without the film and sold only by third parties, and the option stocked by Amazon is a one-disc edition (or beyond first 2000 copies) version of some type?

Germany is so confusing, do the hardcore collectors buy all 3+ mediabook cover options? I guess what works, works?

Some buy the MBs ONLY because of the packaging, leaving it factory sealed in their glass cabinet and brag about their collection on fb.

There was only one release so far: the 2 disc version with Atmos and Auro. Limited to 2k copies. The first 1.2k included a framecard, the rest does not. These are not separate editions as some dealers would like to call them.

This product is only sold through select retailers, hence you will only find marketplace offers or (in case where some dealers sell directly to Amazon) Amazon-direct offers, but for a much higher price.

Because the original print run sold out rather quickly, we've produced a second print. We needed to use new artwork as we stick to the promise that a limited edition won't be reprinted.

The second print comes with various covers to chose from. We thought choice is good, not bad.

Both discs are region free. I'd assume the new cover variations will be region free as well.

It ain't a steelbook, it's a Futurepak / Metalpak.

That's what I had read elsewhere but the "Steel Collection" label makes it very misleading then, plus the 3D packshot shown looks like a steelbook...

Nope... the spine is a dead giveaway.
And the "Steel Collection" is Turbine's internal product line.
