Default Problem: 24bit 96khz files from iTunes to iPod

I have some FLAC files and I used Max(Mac) to convert them to Apple Lossless and then import to iTunes. No problems there and all files play normally. However, I know that iPod does not have support for 24bit 96khz files and will not sync these. I guess I should down-sample them to 48khz but I can't seem to find an option to do that using Max. Does anyone here have a solution for this?

I love Apple products but in cases like this my face just turns red.

edit. Got it working now with XLD.

Use iTunes and convert the Apple Lossless files. It will do the conversion to 48khz or 44khz.

Get a HifiMan player, they will play your 24/96 files natively in full-resolution with much higher sound quality than any iPod. I have the HM801, and it is one of my most-used pieces of gadgetry.

My only problem is that with everything hooked up properly I can hear the program through my speakers, I just cant record the sound. I use the ATi TV feature to record a program, when I play back the file in windows media player I have no sound. Is there another program I can use to save these programs on my computer?
