Default Stream YouTube videos directly to your XMB

If you have Google Desktop, you may want to download the Google Media Server application. With it, you'll have an easy way of sending YouTube videos to your PS3. Once a computer on the same network as your PS3 is configured with Google Media Server, you'll be able to easily access the most viewed, top rated, and other featured YouTube videos instantly from the XMB. In fact, you'll not only see thumbnails, but you'll also be able to copy the videos directly to your PS3 hard drive, for easy replayability.

As soon as me and my girlfriend are done watching Eyes Wide Shut, Cloverfield & Vantage Point, I will try this out. I already downloaded the application. Has anyone else used it before?

I am pretty excited about the ability to copy YouTube video's to my PS3. I have tons of video's that I'd love to get onto my PS3.

I was about to download it, but then I released that you need a computer for that and I'm flabergasted on computers.

I tried it a week or two ago and the results were not good via streaming.

Besides to get youtubes on your PS3 is a piece of easy peasy nice and squeezy.

Just download a program that allows the copying of youtubes to your computer. Put that file into a MPEG4 converter and copy it to your hard drive. I have about a dozen on mine already. Youtubes are lame quality though, be warned.

yeah because they are all in 480i and if you upscale them it looks kind of funny

I saw that google media server and thought about downloading it because I haven't been able to stream music through Windows Media Player or Tversity to my PS3. Thought I'd give google a try.

Would like to know if anyone else who was having problems was successful.

The ability to view youtube videos right in the XMB is nice, but the fact that I can’t seem to access the video’s I want to watch (such as my own in my youtube account or through my favorites is frustrating). I realize that this is still just a Beta, but I wish there was an easier way to make it work. Oh well. I downloaded it for nothing.
