A replacement disc is planned for mid-November. Replacements can be processed via your original seller.

Thanks for that I'm happy that I'm not going insane. I'll eventually apply for a replacement disc even though my copy works, as I'll be buying another player at some point.

14 days since they have shipped, and I am still waiting on my copies. Starting to get a little bit worried at this point. Too bad I now have to worry about a replacement disc as well.

I received a very nice email this morning having asked BeyondMedia for a replacement disc, and they informed me that they'll take care of the rest.

My discs arrived today. My Pioneer player is unable to play Frankenstein, but my Samsung UHD player correctly identifies the disc as 1080/24p and played it fine.

The picture quality is pretty good, and clearly better than the Australian upscale. It's not perfect though - there's very little grain, and the whole thing appears quite soft. Definitely room for improvement - Arrow? Criterion?

I absolutely adore these films. The music alone makes them worth watching - surely two of the most beautiful orchestral scores of Italian cinema.

Unhappy

got mine yesterday too
have Australian Dracula already so did comparison last night
and really not impressed by these
no real detail increase just bit brighter/more colour
but also a lot of digital cleaning and dnr

so anyone on fence don't bother with these imo
till someone else gets them done right

the packaging has error too says 1.85 for Frankenstein instead of 2.35

my Frankenstein doesn't play properly either on my Sony so will need to contact D&T now to sort that

These comments about DNR and a lack of grain have me worried about my Diabolik pre-orders - are there any screenshots floating around?

Channel 4 in the UK had a season of 3D movies about 8 years ago, and they played Flesh For Frankenstein uncensored, in HD and - most importantly - with the 3D present and correct.

The most effective piece was when the creature's body is being raised on the hoist, and the legs swing out towards the audience - you really do end up instinctively moving your head out of way!

can't take screenshots and haven't seen any but these are bad
If I could go back to when I ordered I wouldn't bother

audio is dolby digital
frankenstein only plays on certain players
and
DNR cleaning has ruined these although they seem to be same old masters
not remastered, have same Criterion comm too

bit more colourful but destroyed by digital cleaning
so cancel if you can

Australian Dracula BD is a step up from DVD and recommended
I paid around 10

https://www.caps-a-holic.com/c.php?g...=56754&i=0&l=0

Australian Frankenstein is DVD quality though so I never bothered with that as sill have Criterion DVD's

https://www.caps-a-holic.com/c.php?g...=89206&i=0&l=0

so german Frankenstein does prob look better than Australian imo
but still not as good as it should be,

They showed up today!! Beyondmedia did an excellent job packaging them, but even that was not enough to prevent damage. The box was crushed on all sides and the "glass" case for Dracula is cracked. The insert that holds the dvd in for Frankenstein is also cracked.

Sometimes it's just not your day, but I'm glad to have finally received it because I thought for sure that it was lost. Happy to own something limited to only 199. Now to see about the replacement disc...

How do these compare to the Japanese blu-rays? I have both the FLESH FOR FRANKENSTEIN and BLOOD FOR DRACULA Japanese blus, and short of what I would say is very minor genital censoring (as I never noticed any blurring, or, as with the Japanese release of HOLY MOUNTAIN, small selective green blurs to imitate fig leaves on the genitalia of naked boys in the beginning), the Japanese blu-rays are definitely in HD.

I'll have to see if I can play these on my PC and take some screen caps via VLC media player.

Still has some signs of an upscale, just not as botched as whatever on earth Shock did with their version to make it so soft.

Dracula, the better looking one needlessly spoiled by a ridiculous amount of EE and other filtering.

I'm glad i didn't buy these, happy to have seen the Shock releases, sold them on and still wait for something better. They're fun films but not the sort I want to keep hanging around until a proper edition comes along.
