Too bad these can't have the same quality transfer as UK for all cuts and that missing lossless audio is annoying

The UK release might be lossless but it's in MONO on a 2.0 track (same track twice) and it features a bad 5.1 remix made from that same mono source! (listen carefuly with headphones, it's dreadful)

The Koch Media / NSM might not be lossless but it's the only one in proper stereo/surround sound (that they probably got from one of the laserdics editions), that's why at the last minute they dropped the crappy "lossless" tracks they were given.

Regarding the cuts, there was no HD transfer of the uncut version. Fox, who acquired the worldwide rights, did not want to look for 35mm material of the uncut version (released in French, Japanese and Australian cinemas back in the day), and produced an HD transfer from the R-rated cut. I also found out recently, are making pressure on the other distributors not to release anything other than the R-rated cut.

The NSM release probably features the same "unrated" version (with the missing frames) as Koch:
http://www.mediaquelle.at/shop/produ...ducts_id=33242

The comment
Quote:
Im Gegensatz zu der richtigen Unrated Version fehlen 26 Einzelbilder bzw. 1,08 Sekunden in 5 Szenen.
means 26 frames are missing in 5 scenes and 1,08 sec. That's exactly the same info that schnittberichte.com gave for the Koch version.

I will stay with my totally uncut Dutch tape. No compromises here!

September 8th Koch Media will bring a new Punisher BD in Steelbook.

After getting a French Theatrical Print, that seemed to be the complete unrated cut, they rescanned the missing sections, and reinserted them to their Master.

The gave schnittberichte.com the new master bafore releasing it, and schnittberichte.com did a frame to frame comparison and confirmed tonight that the new release indeed will be the complete unrated Version in HD.

Complete schnittberichte.com news in German: http://www.schnittberichte.com/news.php?ID=10922

Amazon.de order Page: https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B01...SIN=B01FX3POCM

Schnittberichte compared the new master to the french Laserdisc, confirming:
Each single frame that was removed for the MPAA rating. (Compared to the unrated LD)
Two single white images used to censor for MPAA Rating where correctly restored.

They did not use a complete new print, just integrated the missing and SD quality unrated scenes from the new print. According to schnittberichte.com the differences are almost unnoticable. They put up a few screenshots from the new integrated scenes.

I do not think that they will redo the audio, but as long as the new release is not out, it is just guessing, and assuming. At the moment it is just lited with german audio and subtitling at ofdb.de.

Regarding the rating: Long time the movie was not just FSK18, but indicated, because it was supposed to be harmful for young viewers. June 2015 the movie was no more indicated, and Mai 2016 Koch brought it to the FSK for a new rating, and it got the FSK 16.

Well the Amazon page and the blu-ray.com page is listing lossless stereo. I know that isn't always accurate but where did they get that info?

Audio may not be lossless but it's actually stereo. I'll take that in a heartbeat over the UK lossless garbage mono "5.1" track.

I just noticed there's another Blu-Ray release from Koch Media that was recently released, a 2 disc set, housed in a regular case.

I assume it features the same improved transfer for the unrated version, like their steelbook release?

According to the ofdb.de specs, the new amaray 2 disc edition (1 BD, 1 DVD) features the same discs, as the stellbook:
BD with unrated and theatrical cut and DVD with workprint.
