Default Skype on PS4?

I herd we will be able to Skype and play games at the same time like Xboneone. Has this been confirmed?

Maybe you should read this from Democracy Now before continuing to use Skype:

New details have emerged on ties between U.S. intelligence and the nationís largest technology firms. The New York Times reports the online communications giant Skype created a secret program to explore ways of providing the government with easy access to customersí information. Dubbed "Project Chess," the program was established to navigate the legal and technical obstacles to enabling government monitoring of Skype calls and chats.

Don't they have a system in place where if you say a certain word the whole conversation is recorded? So if I use the word "BOMB" the conversation would be recorded and checked to make sure I'm not plotting to take someone/thing out?!

Didn't Microsoft purchase Skype?

I'm sure the PS4 will have video chat but I assume it will be their own proprietary service.

Yeah, probably something like that. And words that have to do with assassinating the president or something.

Oops. Now between you and I agents will be monitoring this thread, and forum. he he. I hope they like to read about video games.

It would be kind of cool to have skype on my TV. But I don't know if I'm going to buy the camera yet. I might at some point if I find an interest in having it.

As long as you keep the tin foil hats nearby, you'll be okay.

MS owns Skype.

Which is is not to say that Skype cannot appear on other platforms (I believe that it's got a pretty solid market share on Android phones among other things), but I would really like Sony to partner with Google on many things (the least being Chrome) and release strong alternatives to the MS platforms, including Skype.

Gmail instant messenging and video chat would be a nice feature.

Skype on PS4 shouldn't really be a problem. After all Sony already has a license for Skype on the Vita, so a similar deal is a very viable option. Plus outside of the MS and Sony's gaming branches the two companies aren't that hostile against one an other. Sony already has Skype on their Bravia TV's and after all offers Windows Phone and Windows 7/8 enabled hardware.

On a related note, did anybody else get an email from Sony with free Skype credit?

MS owns Skype
Sony owns Blu-ray

I guess they can get to some agreement.
