It's one of my cult films. I haven't bought it yet because of the reputation of this company but I was on the fence about getting it with my next Amazon.de order... Now, I know keeping my money would be a smarter move.
Thanks a lot for letting us know about that.

It's a shame so few people post screencaps of PCE blu-rays, by the way. That would help big time.

That's very interesting but also very unfortunate. Do you think this would still be the best audio/visual presentation of the film? Currently I have a poor quality 4:3 Chinese DVD of the film. No idea if it's an official release, but it is a pressed disc.

American Cyborg "Blu-Ray" is MUCH worse than the actual DVD! horrid upscaling quality.

there was a comparison at caps-a-holic but it was deleted for some reasons (take your guesses...)

Lol. In that case, any thoughts on the best option? There is the DVD counterpart by DigiDreams, and a previously released DVD by a label named XCess (https://www.amazon.de/American-Cybor...dp/B00N1KPSB2/). There was also a French DVD.

I have the french dvd (being french)... and although it's a very old dvd, it looks ok.
It screams for an upgrade 'though so it's very sad the blu-ray is not up to the "regular" blu-ray standards

i would say the X-Cess Version on DVD could be much better than the Bluray. i wouldn't trust the DVD from the company who did the Bluray... maybe it's downscaled from the horrid upscale

The French DVD might be the best option for image quality but I had a copy which did not run properly on any DVD-player I tried it on. On some players the DVD just showed pixelation and froze halfway through the film, on others it did not start at all. Don't know if I only had a bad copy or if the whole pressing was affected.

I'll have to see if I can find the French DVD for a decent price at some point, which might be difficult now that it's out of print.

The whole first pressing is affected yes.
It's very usual with the Opening french DVD. They're plagued with the ROT syndrome.

But there are a lot of re-releases.
You "just" have to be careful not to buy the 1st run.

This east european DVD might be a good & cheap option: http://www.ebay.fr/itm/American-Cybo...sAAOSw~bFWJRgM
I have other discs from this company and they're ok really, the only downside is that it's cased in a thin carboard (you have to slide the disc out to get access to it - not ideal but it's cheap and in english).

Did we confirm if Bloodfight was an upscale or if it's just a mediocre master?

Watchable. Nothing great but sufficient for a title like this.

Is the 4-disc mediabook edition of Giant Spider Invasion from 84 the same transfer used for the Krekel and/or VCI editions?

Check out this cracker of a cap from Bloodfight.

What a piece of shit!

Anyone got a matching cap from the UK DVD so we can see if this is an upscale?
