I just wanted to post that I got to meet actor/comedian Dave Coulier at a local fundraising event this past Saturday. Funny guy and just a pleasure to be around.

Isn't that one of the uncles from Full House? (And if so, how do I know such a thing? )

Which still doesn't answer why I know that.

Would that town be Flora, Illinois? (Sorry if too personal)

I enjoy a lot of the threads you create/partipate in such as audio, aspect ratio, black crush (or was that edge enhancement)

Anyway, how did you become so knowledgeable? How/when did you notice the difference in aspect ratios? (I still can't tell the difference between 2:20:1 & 2:39:1) Is it something that was pointed out to you or did you realize it on your own. Have you ever worked on TV shows or movies or wanted to work in Hollywood?

I basically educated myself through various books, journals, and forums over the years. I also have tinkered with many home theater setups. I noticed the difference in ratios as early as 8 years old when some titles started being released in widescreen on VHS. I absolutely loathe when I see a 2.39:1 film on TV and it's 1.78:1. I point it out to people all the time and they look at me like, say what? I have never worked on any TV shows or films, but have known quite a few people that have.

I forgot to post the new shelves I built a couple weeks ago. It was a fun project for sure.

Not tempted? It's a lovely boxset. Checkout my gallery if you haven't seen the boxset. I'm going to put loads more up soon.
