For better-known titles, they sometimes do, but I don't think Deathdream is at that level. Still, a thousand is a small batch and I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Just preordered my copy from Diabolik.

Can't wait. Now I can hopefully retire my Blue Underground DVD of this.

According to the Diabolik listing (the link to which doesn't work when I cut and paste or hyperlink it, for some reason), it won't include the BU extras.

A BU/Odeon release is in the works, eh? Well, I won't mind double-dipping down the line, as this is one of my favorites.

The commentaries on the DVD are very good, a shame they won't be on this release. IF BU does a BD they should be part of the package though.

If someone else is releasing it sure would be great to know. I don't want to miss out but I'd strongly prefer to support BU. I don't understand this reasoning of keeping it under wraps while everybody imports, then pulling a Bill Olsen and crying about it later when it doesn't sell well.

I'm assuming that there's nothing official yet, and that bgart has some kind of inside info (perhaps Troy Howarth has been commissioned to write liner notes for a forthcoming Odeon edition?). I'm sure whichever label is releasing it will make an official announcement as soon as they're able.

Where did this idea of Odeon/Screenbound releasing it come from?

Odeon released it as part of a double-feature disc in 2012, which is why I grouped them in with BU as a potential BD releaser.

How is Subkulturs reputation stand when it comes to BR quality? Im not familiar with them. I do want this movie very much. I have a bootleg copy of this under the name of "The Night Andy Came Home".

How is Diabolik with their service?

I have their Scanners release, and it's my favorite (over Second Sight and Criterion). I've had nothing but good experiences with Diabolik as well.

It sounds that way. You just never know though. Every once in a while, something comes out labeled region B and yet is region free.

On some (?) of their non region free titles (e.g. Silent Trigger) you can circumvent the region lock by pressing the "title" button on your remote while the "sorry wrong region" message is displayed to access the disc contents directly (including the menus). Works on any of my players including the PS3, Samsung and Toshibas.
