I ordered this a couple of days ago and received it this morning before work. Wasn't able to watch the whole thing, but from what I saw skipping from chapter to chapter, this is a fantastic looking disc. I guess this was a 2K DI, but it looks so incredibly sharp. The colors pop, and the contrast of the fire against the pitch black sky is stunning.

I have to disagree with the two posters who said this looks too dim on their Samsung SUHD. It didn't look that way at all on mine, and I had dynamic contrast set to Off. It wasn't overly bright either, but that was obviously the intent.

Another brilliant Lionsgate release.

Watched this in full, and it is indeed top notch in terms of PQ. Great movie as well. It's amazing how sharp and detailed a 2K DI can be.

Deepwater Horizon, Lone Survivor, John Wick 1, and especially John Wick 2, are all excellent Lionsgate UHD discs. Looks like I'll need to get Patriots Day next.

Patriot's day is a good movie but don't expect the same vibrant PQ as others. Colours are bit muted, maybe intentional due to the subject. HDR is restrained as well.

Yep, it looked amazing to me. It's 2K but damn, the detail and sharpness is superb and the HDR is immense.

I gave this a rewatch last night, and it definitely is a very good looking movie. Those flames, especially the night time scenes looked excellent. I could almost feel the heat from the raging inferno that was taking place. It's too bad this tragedy had to take place to begin with. I don't know how true to the real story of what happened took place in the movie, but I do hope it was done with respect to everyone involved.

Grabbed this for £10 from Amazon and as others have said the picture quality is fantastic! I thought perhaps it was a 4k DI it is so good. The bitrate on this is insane.. constantly hovers between 90 to over 100mbps. Saw 130 at one point! (That audio and video bitrate)

Great example of how insanely sharp a 2K DI can be.

The Atmos on this was just insane. Maybe my ears are getting more adjusted to the 3d sound, but the full use of all speakers with different sounds and phasing was great. The main explosion at the end made me felt like I was in it.

That's truly horrifying! And truly amazing. I can't wait to see the library of great immersive use continue to grow and grow

I'll be rewatching this January for sure once by setup is done.

This was one of the first UHDs I watched back when I first got my 2016 OLED and still had my Xbone Slim and a middling 5.1 setup. Thought it looked fine but I wasn’t all that impressed and ended up selling it. Over time—between upgrading equipment and simply developing a better understanding the format—I started having suspicions that maybe I hadn’t gotten the full experience of this disc so I rebought it on Black Friday and man, it is outstanding. Incredibly sharp and vibrant, and maybe the most intense Atmos track I’ve experienced. Super stuff.

Also, I’m glad I came here to post this because who do I see at the top of the page but our old pal, HeatEquation. If only he were around now to see HDR10+ finally taking flight.

Yep! This also makes me think a curbed expectation of just what the format is going to do and supposed to do, for the general consumers, would do this format a lot of good. It's not supposed to make a film look like what the demo loops vids in-store look like.

There are a fair few discs out there that I like a lot but which got trashed by pretty much everyone else, not that this was one of them but yeah: as people's expectations of HDR are course-corrected and display performance improves (I don't just mean on a purely tech-spec level but DA DREADED TONE MAPPING also) then I think certain UHDs will be reappraised in due course.

Just picked this up from Target today for $15 and was really impressed with both the movie and the 4K picture quality. Great flick and very intense.
