Same with PHILADELPHIA EXPERIMENT. At least, Krekel didn't overuse his favorite toy, DNR, with these two titles.
I have it and agree completely. Its one of Krekel's best but its still a disappointment.

The sculpt looks "better", but still doesn't look like the creature from the film. I don't understand why they can't get the look right when the guy who is commissioning this has access to a 1080p version of the film.

Well, a decent sculpture from a really talented artist would cost 150,00 € and more.

As those Blu-ray Special Editions are sold for roundabout 100,00 € the sculpture itself can only cost up to 70,00 € if the distributer wants to gain a profit from it. So you only get mediocre artits that work cheap.

In Germany there momentarily is a real flood of those Sculpture-Editions. One looking more cheap and ugly than the next. But people buy them anyway, so the distributers do really good business.

The next big thing is a sculpture for THE EVIL DEAD because the movie has been banned in Germany for almost 30 years and will be legally available here for the first time since the 1980s. Look at this travesty:

Or even worse: a JCVD sculpture for a limieted edition of NO RETREAT, NO SURRENDER:

Both of those sculpts look better than the XTRO one.

I say: if you can't do it right, then just don't do it. Of course, he could always do a sculpt of the spaceship:

Shootfighter 1 + 2 is also available in a mediabook-only edition.

There is a new picture of the special edition version, and it looks like the final sculpt is a LOT better:

Granted, it could look a bit better (compared to the screen caps on the first page, the shoulders and neck could be improved, and the body of the creature could use a decent painting other than the flat yellow), but it actually looks pretty good!

I am also wondering by the looks of the hips and the head if those parts are moveable (and if you can remove the figure from the base).

I may have to cave and import this, Warner will never get around to releasing it in the US. It's HD so it HAS to be better than DVD, right? (cue the crickets).

Don't think it's on yet as the date isn't fixed. Read somewhere that it is expected to be March or April due to extras being made with the director.

His transfer of THE GUYVER was good enough for Arrow to use for their BD release.

According to the label, the upcoming release will include 4 different versions of the movie:
1. 35th Anniversary Director's cut (old version)
2. 35th Anniversary Director's Cut 2.0 (HBD-Version 2017)
3. International Kinofassung
4. UK version

The new cuts, done by the director, apparently include new scenes and special effects.
