Apparently this was developed on Unreal 4.

I played that game nearly 10 years ago when it was called Little Big Planet.

I've seen this mentioned other places as well and I'm just not seeing it. It's just like other Yoshi games except you can explore the flipside of stages. I'd say it has more in common with the one Mario & Luigi game where you flip the background than LBP. Unless you're strictly talking visuals.

The visual style is absolutely Little Big Planet with all the objects being constructed from around the house items. Lot's of cardboard cutouts, lots of paper cups, egg cartons, tissue paper, etc. Even when Yoshi collects the eggs it reminds me of the bubbles in LBP. Not saying it won't be a fun as hell game to play but the...ahem...inspiration behind this game is clear to me.

Gotcha. I was just unclear with the reference. I kept seeing it at other places as well and thought we were making levels.

Definitely Yoshi meets LBP! That was the first thing I thought of when I saw this yesterday. That being said, I will definitely be picking this up next year when it comes out and I eventually get a Switch.

From what we saw it looks fairly simple so I'd like to see more of it as we get closer to release, but I'm a big fan of Yoshi so I'll likely pick it up if it looks pretty good

It looks absolutely relaxing, which sounds perfect for me.

They just showed off the front/flip side of level one as well as a co-op stage on the Treehouse livestream, and yeah this game looks pretty good and fun. And very pleasant! I definitely wanna check it out now; I'm guessing it might be released in January or February if Nintendo is gonna stick to their one-game-per-month schedule

Yoshi is my favorite Mario series character and man the visuals of this are so great

I'm assuming it would be the February release as well and Kirby in March.

But that is just complete guesses

I think everything we know about will release prior to E3 2018 besides Metroid and Pokémon.

Well I nailed it on Kirby

Missed the mark on Yoshi though. In more recent news Amazon Italy posted and removed a June 29th release date for this.

Wonder what caused the delay.

Odd for a 2D platformer to get delayed in what is already a pretty weak year for Switch first party games.

The delay sucks but saw it coming. Nintendo obviously has no plans for anything that isn't holiday season 2018 and that was already being taken over by Pokemon and Smash, they want all focus on those two. Truthfully, I'm kind of okay with the game being delayed because it will save me $60 dollars for another few months.

Yeah, I would've gotten this if it came out and it's kind of a bummer it got delayed, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't have plenty of other stuff left to play this year lol

I don't mind the delay IF it means Nintendo is building a bigger, better, more ambitious Yoshi game. I was disappointed in Kirby Star Allies, as it just felt like a quick cash grab port of a 3DS game. I don't want Yoshi to feel the same way.

Sadly I think it just comes down to the look of the game. Any time they make a game that has had a distinct look (be it yarn, clay or papercraft backgrounds) they seem to take forever but end up being rather shallow.
