So nice that these Peanuts specials will have HDR now for "more lifelike colors". /s

Were the original elements scanned at 4k/6k or are these 2k upscales? Anyone know for sure?

Supposably the plan to convert the entire Peanuts catalog to 4k was started a few years ago with Technicolor.

I'm not terribly impressed with what appear to be new remasters of Christmas and Great Pumpkin making the rounds (on Hulu I believe?). The inklines look too smeary from the previews I saw. Oddly the 4k remasters of the lesser specials released on the Emmy Honored Collection DVD looked fine.

I'd rather have them individually than have the set, because there are other Peanuts stuff and I'd want them to all be in order and the set hinders that. It's The Great Pumpkin came out in 1966 and A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving came out in 1973, and between those were A Boy Named Charlie Brown in 1969 and Snoopy Come Home in 1972. I might have to pay more, but my slight OCD is fine with it.

No, it doesn't.. but at least this had something added that the previous DVD and BD releases didn't have.. I only ever got the Christmas one, and now I'm glad I didn't pay much for it or get the others since they only had one bonus episode, and these have two... so I'll get them. I do think they need to do more Peanuts specials instead of just re-releasing the same ones over and over though, it'd be one thing if they re-released to get money to use towards upgrading and releasing the others but that doesn't seem to be the case yet.

I kind of don't see why they don't update the Holiday Collection to include Easter Beagle anyway... I'd assume Easter is celebrated more around the world than Halloween or some sort of Thanksgiving. The only countries I know with a Thanksgiving are the US and Canada.

What a hilariously odd decision... but I'll support it in the hopes that they do this with more classic animation.

What the hell, why do these need 4K releas... Oh look, the $45 has already disappeared from my wallet. I guess that's why. Damn Warner Home Video in October.

Meh. I have these on Bluray, and I think that is about as good as quality as they need.

I don't have any Peanuts sets (just The Movie on UHD Blu), so this is looking tempting.

This is nice. I'd like to own it, I think.

Since we're talking WB, please give us an amazing Looney Tunes et al collection too. Put that disc space and video quality to good use.

I love the classic Peanuts specials but I'm not sure their picture quality will see much benefit from 4K resolution.

I'll probably pick these up down the line but there are far better classic animation choices possible for UHD.

I'm going to buy this without hesitation. Though I wish "You're Not Elected, Charlie Brown" was made available on BluRay. That was one of my all time favorite Charlie Brown specials. ABC always shows it after The Great Pumpkin

I will buy these, begrudgingly, but damn it, why can't they release all the half hour specials and Bon Voyage / Race For Your Life at least on blu.

And the Christmas slipcover better not have silver glitter on it this time around!

The improved color space is a different matter -- and by itself is the reason why I will upgrade to UHD.

What a great year this is turning out to be for UHD-BD!!!
Spot on assessment. I've painted cels before and the color is remarkably rich and saturated. So it's a double bonus in terms of detail and color. I think a 4K UHD animated film would be a great thing to see, doubly so for visually striking titles like Akira and Sleeping Beauty.

Yeah, I'll be getting ol Charlie Brown in 4k. If you watch the blu-rays closely you can still see some dirt and scratches showing up, plus the color could be better.

Dirt and scratches will look worse in 4k unless they spend the money to clean up the print. I'll agree the color should be better though, that would be my primary motivation.

Sounds like overkill. I'd be very happy with a 720p release too.
