Finally, someone agrees with me. Everyone's raving over Hoffman, and I'm thinking, are we watching the same performance?

The story, its execution, the characters, I just can't stand this one. That Italy scene in which Cruise and Rhys Myers (gdamn he's annoying!) pose as DHL couriers has got to be the most embarrasing scene in any M: I movie ever. And shortly after that when Cruise takes a picture and puts it in front of the security camera, that looks like something they would do in an M: I spoof if they had ever made one. And what's up with Ethan Lector strapped onto a bed at IMF HQ when he's captured? And with all due respect but Seymour Hoffman (R.I.P.) is the worst villain of the series for me. Admittedly I will say the pacing of M: I 3 is far better than in the second movie, but that's logical I guess considering the original M: I 2 was much longer than what we ultimately got. I think some of the action scenes in M: I 3 are rather spectacular but that's not going to save this movie for me. I do love Maggie Q and that Kanye West Impossible song during the end credits though.

Oh, and did anyone ever had the feeling this movie has some sort of TV show vibe to it?

Anyway, looking forward in waching Ghost Protocol today.
About to watch MI3 for the first time in many years!

And MI2 definitely gave me a TV movie vibe - in fact, take out Cruise and halve the budget and that's exactly what it is!

I actually liked MI 1, 3, 5 and 6. MI2 was my least favorite (too cheesy for me) followed by Ghost Protocol. MI3 is probably my favorite, I like the sequence and the tension through the movie, and Hoffman definitely adds to it.

You could probably say the same for a lot of movies.

Not really. Most of them don't have Cruise in them to begin with.

Gotta say that I loved MI3! Probably not quite as much as the newer ones but the 2 hour running time flew by. Hoffman was great as the villain. I hadn't seen it in years so had forgotten half of it.

For the people still missing this box-set...

It's 50 pounds on Amazon UK atm: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Don't know how long this price will last, it was like 90-100 pounds for weeks. Just ordered it.

Anyone else’s MI 1 4k disk skip/freeze on them around the 48 minute mark?

EDIT: well now it won’t stop freezing. Guess I got a bad disk.

I am looking for just the first film as cheap as possible? Anyone have any ideas? I am UK based. Annoyingly the newest film is appearing in quite a few 2 for Ł30 offers, but the original is not.

Not sure if this helps, but: current options for buying the US 4K standalone edition via Amazon UK.

Decided to watch these again this week. Haven’t seen them since their release. I think I liked 1 even more this time. It’s just a gorgeous release. Will spin 2 later this afternoon.

I already had Fallout in 4K so luckily these were available individually also on Amazon & for a decent price too. The remaining five were actually sent in the cardboard mailers.

Man I love 3 so much. Saw it back in theatres and the 4K trounces it. Still one of the best titles to showcase contrast.

I brought the boxset when I brought my 4k player a few weeks back. MI was my first watch in 4k and watched MI2 & 3 over the last 2 days. Quite enjoyed the Trilogy and I loved the transfer of 3rd film. Was my 1st time watching all 3 from beginning as only seen bits of 1 & 2 when Channel flickering. My only annoyance as start of MI3 as it gave away a bit of the plot and without the scene at the start, would of made the middle film more thrilling.

Can't wait to see the newer Trilogy as quality should be amazing as they are quite new films.

What's a good price to pick up this boxset? Watching a couple of auctions on eBay for around $75 that include shipping, but one of them doesn't come with digital codes. I was thinking about making a Best Offer of $60. Or maybe wait until Black Friday.

This series to me is pretty easy to rank with only one weak entry in MI2, but Fallout became my instant favorite, such a blast, the others are just as good.

HELL of a way to start the movie though (I went to the cinema baked out of my gourd and that opener was intense, man) and it's not like it didn't have a 'twist' when we caught up to the scene later on.
