I'm not 100% sure that extras are PAL, how do I check on my PS3?
Why did you assume it was PAL?

I just assumed since it was since it was in a PAL territory.

I honestly didn't realise Sony would do NTSC extras on all their blu-rays, so this is a world-wide thing?

I think so. I got Erin Brokovich and it was NTSC.

NTSC isn't a problem being played worldwide. PAL is.

Do you have a US PS3? Just try the extras on that.

Do you know if this is a BD50 or a BD25?

I've got home from work and can confirm more info.

First off, after checking those caps from the US and watching the Aussie one, I am certain the Aussie one has better picture. The bitrate is always in high 20's mpbs and I saw it peak at 34 or 35 in some scenes.

Also, there are 3 audio tracks not listed on the cover. Russian, Polish and English Dolby 2.0 for some reason.

I'm still not sure if its on a BD-50, how can you tell without having a blu-ray drive on your PC?

Anyway, I recommend this if you skipped on the US release.

Some screenshots, not the best but they might give an idea:

with a bitrate that high, it would surely be a BD 50 would it not?

I just picked it up also anyway, but I don't have a BR drive either... does it say it on the physical disc anywhere?!?

I know on the Universal releases it actually says "BD-50" on the back of the case in fine print. I can't find the info anywhere on the cover or the disc itself.

I believe it's in the inner ring. Someone posted it in another thread. It might say BD25 or BD50.

well I watched the film tonight... looked great imo, what were the shortcomings of the Region A version anyway?

this one had a couple of scenes with dodgy black levels, but the detail and sharpness were quite high throughout... textures were great, couldn't keep my eyes off the different suits, and fine details like wall textures and hair... bitrates were high, as reported... I suspect BD50, but can't confirm it either way...

I can't say if it's a new encode or not, but I would give it probably a 4.25 or 4.5/5 for PQ... for the age of the film it was very impressive... and the audio was good for the source also, great bass in the club scene, and some good surrounds when required...

have no idea what the Region A version is like in comparison, but I am confident this is as good as it will get in home cinema for American Psycho.

yeah, I just added it to my profile, forgot to do that when I joined

so regarding the Aus release, we now need confirmation of the aspect ratio, BD25/BD50, and the cuts mentioned here:

German release is CUT by 16 seconds! The weird thing is that you can view the UNRATED footage via an easter egg and the line '...*******' instead of '...ass' is intact in the main feature (a telltale sign of UNRATED) but not these telltale signs: 3some oral shots or the shot of Patrick and Christy smiling at each other while he screws Sabrina from behind plus obviously more. Australian blu owners need to check this! running time of US is 1:42:02 and the German is 1:41:46.

I will check mine when I get some time, but hopefully somebody can beat me to it, to get this all worked out.

This is sounding better and better every time I read something about this.

Can anybody posts any pics of the packaging?

Here are some scans of the disc cover:

Also, I can confirm this is UNCUT, 1:42:02 total running time.
