At that point, you might as well buy off Ebay.

That's how it's always been around here, Goodwill and most pawn shops. You'd think going in month after month, year after year, and seeing the same 5,000 CDs they would think about lowering the price to move them, but no, it's like they enjoy keeping their expensive crap. I did find one pawn shop that sold new Blu-rays for $5 each, but haven't been in there in years.

I've tried looking for CDs at my charity & thrift stores but have never found anything interesting. I get the feeling that my local shops are mainly just collection points for the good stuff to get funneled to other locations in larger nearby cities.

In browsing through listings on Amazon, I found some Weird Al Yankovic deals.

ALAPALOOZA -- $4.58 -- https://www.amazon.com/Alapalooza-We.../dp/B0060ANOUC

POLKA PARTY -- $3.79 - AUTORIP -- https://www.amazon.com/Polka-Party-W.../dp/B002YUR2AA

OFF THE DEEP END -- $3.79 - AUTORIP -- https://www.amazon.com/Off-Deep-End-.../dp/B0060ANS62

WEIRD AL YANKOVIC IN 3-D -- $4.79 - AUTORIP -- https://www.amazon.com/3-D-Weird-Al-.../dp/B0060ANWF4

These next two just break the $5 barrier, but do include AUTORIP

EVEN WORSE -- $5.79 - AUTORIP -- https://www.amazon.com/Even-Worse-34/dp/B0060ANQGO

WEIRD AL YANKOVIC'S GREATEST HITS -- $5.49 -AUTORIP -- https://www.amazon.com/Greatest-Hits.../dp/B0054YHACS

Many Goodwill's and similar often sell their better books/music/movies through Amazon markeplace and eBay now.

A shady practice if you ask me, the store shoppers get scraps on the shelves.
That is why I prefer mom and pop thrift stores.
I try not to go into Goodwill, I saw something on the news years ago on how they pay their employees crap.

WTH? It's a shady practice for a charity to try and maximize its revenue? Are you serious?

I have no problems with making a profit either.
But if you have a store full of just leftover junk, nobody will want to shop there, and the stores in my area have gone downhill in terms of quality items instore.
Those workers at those Goodwill stores have to be paid as well, as well as the stores rent.
The smaller mom and pop thrift (also profits for charity) has booming business, and more quality goods that also are more affordable than Goodwill.
This all all pre Corona however.
Stores are still closed where I live.
They should be opening soon with limited capacity.

That's a lot of Weird Al!
I have his Greatest Hits cd, I'm just a casual fan.
UHF is a fun film.

Edit: Just checked and its listed on Amazons website as in stock for $9 but my order status still says we will notify you when we have a ship date or something to that nature.

Babyface - A Collection of His Greatest Hits

I prefer this one to be honest and it's the same price. The major advantage? "It's No Crime" which is my favorite Babyface song and was his first major hit as a solo artist. I actually have the radio cut (which has a couple of interesting "bells & whistles*) on an official 80's compilation cd but it's nice to have the album cut too.

I've never been big into Springsteen, but I was at Goodwill and they had an unmarked 4K of Lord of War and I also saw Human Touch unmarked so I got it. Turns out they wanted $1.99 for each. I had waited a long time in line, so I went with it. Not sure I would have bought the Springsteen if it was marked $1.99. Anywho, it turned out that I really liked the album. It has been voted the least favorite album by Springsteen fans, but I liked it. Then I found out that he released that album and Lucky Town on the same day and I found that for $2.99 used at a store.

This brings me to this - why is Born in the USA not that cheap? Didn't it sell a crap ton more? I'm really surprised he hasn't done some big deluxe box set for that album.

Last year, I started listening to and getting a lot of Billy Joel and Madonna albums. They can be found pretty cheap to add to orders to get free shipping. Some of Tom Petty's catalog, too.

This is my all-time favorite grew Springsteen album, this is close to Prog Rock is he ever got, his second album.
And it's only $3.79!

This classic medley is worth the price of admission!
