Thanks. Yeah, I figured that was the case when I saw Lost Horizon was available for shipping. Still, it's aggravating that BB has all but eliminated store inventory for movies and games (their game selection is even worse than their movie selection at our nearest two stores), making it a roll of the dice to justify a trip to the store even when you reserve a copy. And then BB blocks online ordering as soon as they're out of stock, for items that aren't limited production.

Considering how frequently media goes OOS at BB online, BB quite clearly needs to compensate for the volume they're no longer carrying in store, by increasing the volume they're stocking online. Otherwise people will continue going to amazon to pricematch due to the convenience and far better customer support when an item arrives damaged due to ever worsening packaging practices, not to mention helping to justify our $100 per year prime memberships, which such is virtually required to shop on amazon anymore. That is, until amazon decides not enough customers shop at BB anymore to bother with pricematching them at all, which is how they already treat 99% of the retail landscape.

Lost Legacy for 20?! Oh man that's SUPER tempting. So hoping Uncharted 4 gets a good discount too. I had my disc copy from last year's sale, had to pawn, now I'm aching to replay.

Just purchased Horizon: Zero Dawn (back in stock) and Uncharted: Lost Legacy for $15.99 each plus $2 more dollars off for selecting store pick-up. I considered waiting till Black Friday but I wasn't sure if they would exclude the use of the Gamer's Club discount.

GCU stopped working for Black Friday either the year before or last year, so this is cheaper than if you waited.

It was last year. Part of the reason I didn't renew, as those were not the terms I agreed to when I subscribed, not that it would have definitely made a difference. Still, ethically speaking, if not legally so, any change in terms should have applied to new subscribers and renewals only. But the main reason I didn't subscribe was lack of games coming out that I'm really passionate about, now that Uncharted and Arkham are finished and Disney has taken over Star Wars, which seems to have ended single-player campaign based games for the franchise. I've gone from buying 1-2 games per month to one ever other month, most of which have been cheaper on amazon even compared to GCU discounts.

I can't decide on this edition of Zero Dawn or waiting for the inevitable price drop on the Complete Edition releasing soon. If the game is as good as reviews make it out, I'm sure I'll want the dlc too, especially the winter one (Frozen Tudras?). And even at $15, after buying the dlc separately, it'll no doubt have been cheaper to wait. Of course, it's moot at the moment, being that BB has closed the order option for shipping and pickup. I suspect they're just holding some back to make sure they have stock left for actual Black Friday shopping, like last year.

Does it indicate anywhere if Marvel vs Capcom 4 will be discounted? It's 39.99 in Best Buy this week but I would hold off if it'd be cheaper somewhere.

I wonder if psn store will have Lost Legacy for 20? I prefer digital to physical copies. Welp, their bf sales week is supposed to start soon. So we'll see...

Huh?!?! I can understand kids buying on their parents dime. I can even halfway reason buying during sales geared to push digital, or because the digital version is the only way to get all the dlc. But why would anyone in their right mind actually "prefer" a format designed SOLEY to maximize publisher profits while minimizing (eliminating could possibly be more accurate) consumer rights, which will without a doubt ultimately result in the elimination of retail competition when the ONLY way to buy is direct from the publisher itself.

It's the same with movies, except there, we're also talking lower quality in addition to the elimination of legal consumer ownership. Even more so when we're talking about the unregulated, unaccountable gaming industry that has been releasing unfinished, untested products as a virtual matter of routine in recent years.

I used to prefer physical discs for games, but after I got used to being lazy and not having to insert the disc, I admit I am a fan of digital. I'm still partial to physical discs for movies. Probably the hassle of never being able to find the game (where did son or wife put it?) is what did me in.

I keep seeing people use this reasoning, and it's shocking to me that people would make an entire jump to digital solely to save themselves ten to fifteen seconds of putting a game into a console/removing a game.

It's this unfortunate kind of mentality that has allowed digital to take on the foothold that it has, as well as things like micro transactions with in games and the like. In exchange for a little extra convenience, many people basically just "bend over and take it" in terms of giving up their rights and giving these companies what they want. Though most people don't think about the long term ramifications. They still assume that they own the digital version the same way that they do a physical copy. And they assume that their purchase will be "safe" indefinitely as long as they continue to have internet access, which isn't necessarily true. If the company on the other end drops support at some point and things cannot be redownloaded in the event of a hardware malfunction, etc., then people will be out of luck with regards to accessing their content.

Sadly this is effecting gaming far worse than it is movies at this point. The problem is that even when buying games on physical discs, between update patches (which in some cases may fix major glitches... they aren't as much of an issue when it's just minor tweeks), add on dlc, and the like, so much content is only made available digitally even when buying the main game physically. It sucks.

For me, yea, it is all about convenience. Toggle between three digital games, or just one, have a movie/TV show disc inserted for breaks. Heck most of the TV I consume these days is all digital via hulu. Also I was on pc/Steam before moving to ps4, so. That might account for the preference, too.

Both are worth playing. I'd recommend 4 first. I don't think either hit the heights the series previously hit though.

Picked up Horizon for $16 and cancelled the Complete Edition. With my backlog, I doubt I'll want to play Frozen Wilds after I beat the main game. Plus I've read that it's just more gameplay but lacks a good storyline.

OK I'm likely biased as 4 was my first entry into the series, but I think it was the best one. Best looking, best story, and I think Troy Baker & Nolan North played superbly off one another (see also: their mocap sessions from Last of Us). I played thru the Uncharted collection after to enjoy the whole series, well dropped off in 3, but still. Close enough.

Uncharted 4 is at its Black Friday price of $19.99 already but GCU still stacks until the official sales making it $15.99 like Lost Legacy was.
