$36.25 after tax and even at that price my GF and I debated buying given all the negative reviews. Hopefully hacking it is as easy as it was with the SNES Classic.

Do the following if you want to make getting the best price as painless as possible: load the Cartwheel coupon into your Target app wallet, price match BB at self-checkout and then scan the Wallet barcode yourself. Credit to CAG for the tip.

I just bought one at Best Buy for $60. What the MSRP should have been in the first place.

You get the employee who oversees the self-checkout to make the price adjustment.

However, it's too late for Cartwheel. Target removed the 40% from the app. The only way it's still on your app is if you loaded it already.

But these things are just gonna continue to collect dust and will probably be down to $40 in no time.

I'm holding out for $20 myself.

And if it never gets there, no big loss IMO.

Sony really bungled this.

Samus pretty much covered it. Apparently my experience is YMMV though. Caught a random employee walking past the PS Classic display and asked them to grab one for me. No security measures on the system and they let me pay for it like any other item. Using Cartwheel on a price match might be more difficult if you're forced to pay in the electronics section or at customer service.

If you're trying to combine a Cartwheel with a price match, the best way to do it is to buy multiple items, and also set up your Target app to the all-in-one mode where it only has to get scanned once to add Cartwheel and pay with the Red Card at the same time.

This is how I paid at self-checkout after seeing others suggest it at CAG. Had never done it before and was surprised by the literally instant payment. I assume a cashier would have to go back and manually invalidate the transaction if you paid that way when buying from a human being. Suspect that only a bottom line oriented manager or random hard ass employee would bother at that point.

I wouldn't even pay $20 for it. Sony would have to pay me to take one off their hands.

Seems that was a little bit of a mistake at one store and not a full drop.

Yet.

$39.99 from Walmart and not a third party seller. How low can it go?

Best Buy has finally brought it down to $39.99 for this week which is what Walmart also has it at. Amazon must've price matched and sold out. Is this a sign that another drop is due soon?

Target still has it for $59.99, but there's a 30% Cartwheel.

Find a store willing to both PM BBY and allow Cartwheel discount. They aren't supposed to do both but some stores will.

IMHO you still overpaid. The main problem with the system (and there are many) is that the controllers do not have thumbsticks. Your muscle memory will take over and you will notice it immediately. And some games are useless without them. Then the refresh issue. Then the performance issues. Etc.

Money is better spent on a RPi and retrogamer.
