Default The Dead Donít Die

Just saw this and can’t wait to buy it in the fall. I know it won’t be for everyone, but I loved Jarmusch being Jarmusch and just having fun. Hoping for a gag reel/some decent supplements. Just pre-ordered

I hope the price drops by release date. $24.99 for a Blu-ray is a little pricey.

Easily one of the most disappointing movies of the last few years for me personally. Just absolutely failed in every way. It's a shame because the cast is obviously great.

Same experience for me. Loads of subtle humour, and nods to other movies and directors.

[Show spoiler]Loved the way the motel owner was called Perkins and Iggy Pop's character was called Samuel M Fuller

It's a comment on the state of the US, trump, and the throwaway youth culture. It's not a horror movie at all really. Maybe people were expecting a Walking Dead / Shaun of the Dead mashup.

Yes. Do not blind buy. There were a few parts I liked but didn't like the movie. It's worth watching once just for Bill Murray in a Zombie movie again. It's either a love it or hate it movie.

Upon my first viewing it appears as a meditation on Romero's Dawn. It certainly, clearly, defines an aspect of Dawn-what the undead gravitate towards as a comment on consumerism.

I'm pasting my opinions of this movie from another similar thread....

Watched this one on Blu-ray last night. I'm somewhat of a fan of Jim Jarmusch's films, I really love Dead Man and Only Lovers Left Alive.

This however, was probably the worst and certainly most disappointing movie I've seen in a long time. If I could compare it to a movie that took a similar approach yet worked, I'd say this was a failed "Repo Man."

It's often poorly lit and photographed. It shuffles along at a snail's pace and is a slog to get to the end. The 4th wall breaking, the flat staging of characters and dialog, the occasional (fake?) improv, the deadpan humor, the social commentary, the crappy digital "dust" effects for killed zombies, etc, etc all these approaches worked at odds with each other in a done-to-death genre and constantly sabotaged the movie at every turn. Often, the movie seems like it's a bunch of major ("hip") actors dosed on ambien reluctantly helping out on someone's student film as a favor. Certainly ranks as the biggest waste of a notable cast in recent memory.
