Question

Recently, Flight of the Navigator was released on blu ray disc in North America. I had been watching it on Amazon.com, but hesitated to buy it because it was listed at around $45.

Once it was released, it was sold out pretty quickly and apparently hasn't been restocked since.

No other websites have the North American version listed, except for eBay, which has one listed for $62. I contacted Amazon asking if they were going to restock this item, but all they said was that they don't have any information and don't know if it will be restocked or not.

Nowhere in the listing on Amazon did it say that was going to be available in limited quantities or that it's out of print now. So does anyone know what the situation is with this? Are there any other websites I can buy it from without having to pay such an inflated price?

It has shot up in price in the UK too https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Fligh...Blu-ray/51254/ but it still works out cheaper than $62

Will the UK version work on a North American player, specifically the Playstation 3?

Also, does Amazon UK ship movies to the United States?

that is just an import of the U.K. version, it was never released in North America. Amazon just imported and marked up the U.K. version

Question

Are you guys sure that version will work in the U.S.? The description says it's PAL format, Region B/2.

That doesn't sound right.

Did you get that information from Amazon? If so, don't trust the info they post. For blu-ray 1080p24 is 1080p24 so there is no PAL or NTSC. Now, the extras might have been carried over from the DVD and be in PAL (576i or 1080i @ 50Hz). In which case if your player or television can't display or convert it to NTSC (480i or 1080i @ 60Hz) then you may have a problem playing those extras.

What you would need to be more concerned with is whether or not the blu-ray is region free assuming you don't have a region free player. But this title is listed as region free so that shouldn't be an issue.

No, PS3s are locked to a single region but this title is listed as region free thus it will play on your PS3.

A region free player has the capability to play titles regardless if they're locked to Region A, or Region B, or Region C, or all regions (Region A,B,C).

Sounds like your PS3 is Region A (North American) thus it will play both Region A titles or region free (Region A,B,C) titles.

What rdodolak said plus the only extras on the disc is a commentary so there won't even be an issue with that.
