USA Private Parts (1997) (Howard Stern) coming to Blu-ray(?)

Don't know if this is true since, as of this writing, there's nothing about this on WB press site, so take this with a grain of salt.

Anyway, according to dvdlist.kazart.com Blu-ray is coming on February 23.

First I've heard of it, though I would welcome the news. Been wanting to upgrade this for a while, and would have converted it on vudu's service had there been an HD version, but there isn't.

Considering how his marriage turned out, this film would probably be better today if he stuck more to the backstage/behind the scenes radio stuff and less on the "romance."

I would definitely love to have this on Blu-ray! I went to see this when it was in theaters!

Bring on this along with Beavis and Butt-Head Do America!

If it's coming I'm sure it's barebones. I doubt Stern would take the time to participate in the special features, and if he did he'd be complaining about it for the past couple months.

Default Private Parts (1997) (Howard Stern) coming to Blu-ray(?)

His getting a divorce and subsequently turning around to marry a model makes most of the movie seem like a silly little fairy tale without a word of truth to it. Not long after he split up with his wife, his radio show became non-stop bragging about all his newly found freedom exploits with such helium heads as Carmen Electra; excessively detailing how he was decorating his new bachelor pad; and endlessly boasting about all his trendy dinners with celebrities at Nobu. A month after his split I had to stop listening to the show, which I had loved for years. I never went back. For me, what made the show and the movie work was that he was outrageous on the air and behaved like a crazy typical wild single guy for four hours everyday, but was in reality a happily married family man. When he started living his radio role, he became unbearable and unlistenable.

I'd much rather have Warner's PRIVATE PARTS from 1972 released on Blu-ray. Absolutely stupendous horror/sex/kink film.

I really hope this happens, I've been listening to his greatest 100 on Sirius and was wandering when this might make a blu appearance.

How awesome would it be to have both the theatrical and TV cut where Stern pauses the film and comes on screen during the dirty parts? Wishful thinking but still. I recently re watched my DVD and it doesn't hols up well so this would be a welcome upgrade. I can only imagine how awesome the LFE will be in lossless during the "speaker" scene.

I stuck in much longer. Been listening to Stern for a long time, but this year when it was time to renew my SiriusXM membership, I just couldn't justify it anymore. His interviews are great in-and-of themselves... better than anyone in the industry. But for regular listeners, they're just the same questions over and over again. "Don't you kind of have to fall in love with whoever the lead is? Is it hard to separate that from your normal life? How does you significant other feel about that?" Nice line of thought, but we don't need it regurgitated for everyone who walks through the door. And, in general, the show material just isn't as good. Howard also seems to be really annoyed by anything and everything nowadays, like he's not even having fun with it. So, I said, "Out."

I would have bought this Blu-ray a couple of years ago, but it's coming way too late in the game now for me to care.

Too bad there won't be ANY bonus material aside from a possible theatrical trailer. This release could've hugely benefited from a retrospective especially since a lot of people really got into this show after the Jackie years, when Artie took his place. I love the Jackie years, but the movie does nothing to reference those magical moments that occurred on air and rightly so, it's Howard's story not Jackie's. So some kind of documentary on the history of Howard would be useful for that generation who got into the show on with Artie.

A commentary or something too, anything really besides a trailer. I really hate Paramout/WB when it comes to releasing catalog titles.

By the way, incredibly sad to hear today on the show that Riley Martin died just before Christmas. He was 69 years old.
