Nintendo has confirmed that Super Nintendo games are indeed coming to the New Nintendo 3DS today. Youíll be able to play a variety of titles including Super Mario World, F-Zero and Pilotwings today. Donkey Kong Country, Super Mario Kart and Earthbound hit the New Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console on March 24th. The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Super Metroid & Donkey Kong Country 2 hit the New Nintendo 3DS on April 14th.
Good if you haven't already bought these games on the Wii or WiiU VC. I can't get excited personally with the hope of the new system(s?) having a unified account system. I refuse to rebuy something I already own just to play it on the go.

For what its worth, if you buy one game in the pair, the other game is half price. So mario world was 8 euro, and then earthbound will only be 5 euro, etc.

That looks awesome! I'd love to buy it if they'd release it in Europe as we got the same Super Nintendo (Super Famicom) console design.

How faithful are the VC snes games to the actual cartridges?

I'm thinking the should be spot on, right?

I was thinking the same thing, yet I still bought all the NES titles on the 3DS. So now Iíve bought them on the Wii VC, Wii U VC and the 3DS. Greedy nintendo. Does anyone know if I got my daughter a 3DS if I would have to buy the VC games again? Or would I be able to download them off the 3DS estore? Thanks

This is a bit convoluted. If you're no longer using your old 3DS you can do a system transfer. Keep in mind this will delete all saved games and status on the old system and transfer it to the new one. The old system will no longer be able to play those downloaded games anymore as this process transfers the license, games and game saves wholesale to the new system and cannot be reversed. If you plan on still using both systems and want access to those games you unfortunately have to buy them on both. There is no "family plan" for the eShop.
