Friend of mine contested the shipping charges and they actually refunded him. Seems like the route to go for now.

That was always been the case though, wasn't it-- at least on the international sites? Marketplace sellers even if FBA were treated as separate orders from AmazonUK items. This new behaviour seems to affect even direct Amazon shipment unless I'm misreading things

Refunding down to current Std shipping rates or possibly back to the old rates?

I'm actually not sure, but I don't think so.

For example, I have a January order from Amazon.fr for 10 blu-rays, all FBA, but 4 different sellers. Shipping was EUR 11.12 for that order (though I chose AmazonGlobal Standard, and not plain standard).

I don't think I every used International FBA much so I easily could be mistaken. It sounds like you have a good argument that were same as Amazon at least from France.

The only MP sellers I think I've ever used were single retailer orders (Eureka/Best Media or maybe musicmagpie years ago) or a few single item orders from Rarewaves

I know I had 7 in my UK cart a Saturday and std shipping was around £16.

I just tried 12 -- 6 different items, mixed singles and boxsets, different studios and I'm still seeing Std Shipping £23.90 (AGS and Priority high 40's)

I even bumped it to 24 different items -- Std shipping £42 (Priority 88). A bunch of Arrow, Indicator, Disney, BBC titles -- no preorders.

I wonder why some people are getting different rates? It almost has to be location related though I didn't look at trying a bunch of preorders. I wonder if the updated shipping rates on Friday triggered some sort of glitch and at some point this week it will change.

Someone did contact AmazonUK over the weekend and asked about it and was told if they made such an order (4 items for £26 shipping), that Amazon would refund the excess charge. I'm guessing that would be down to routine std shipping.

This is just baffling to read so many different issues going on.
I tried with a very old account (never Prime) and never had been used to order from UK --

I tried of course with my main account which registered at AmazonUK long before the One Sign In account existed. It has had Prime trials a couple times, but not now.

I tried with my main US AMazon acct/Prime

I couldn't come up with a combination of items or address that didn't give me the std shipping option -- currently £6.98 plus approx 1.5 ea added item. No issues with Preorders, orders with 10 items, multiple addresses with different states.

Could someone not getting the Std option with a basket of 6 items possibly post which items are in your cart and a zip code to see if it some sort of account related issues, items issues, or zip code dependent?
I found the issue on my end, but I don't understand what's unique about it. One movie, sold by Amazon, shows as having a shipping cost of 8.99 lbs on its page instead of 6.96. Adding it to my cart makes the standard shipping option disappear.

I was finding that it wasn't how many titles I ordered, but that certain titles weren't allowing standard shipping. For instance, I ordered a bunch of Eureka titles, but the title "Cover Girl" would eliminate standard shipping, even though all titles were sold by bestmediagroup and fulfilled by amazon.

Definitely an item issue -- I could reproduce it with Bugsy and my basket of 24 items with std shipping £42 becomes a basket of 25 with £86 shipping.

Same with the OOS Beauty and Beast from the post below it -- not sure when it comes back into stock if it will act differently.

I changed Bugsy from an Amazon with 9 shipping to Marketplace Rarewaves and my standard shipping for the 24 Amazon items came back with the Rarewaves copy with 2.50 shipping acting as a separate order - so about $2.50USD more to split it to Rarewaves rather than AmazonUK IF if added normal shipping. Certainly far cheaper than ordering from Amazon as a separate order.

Such odd glitches though. Is anyone getting the weird shipping charges if ALL the items directly from Amazon and have the +£6.96 shipping label on the item page?

Soundslike their update to new shipping rates broke something inside their system -- hopefully something easy to fix.

I noticed last night that Cover Girl wasn't screwing up the shipping anymore. Not sure if they fixed something or if you pushed them into pushing a switch - of possibly just a glitch in the glitch

Hey guys, I ordered four blurays from Amazon.co.uk about 2 days ago. Postage & Packing for delivery to USA was GBP 11.58.

This is my first time ordering with them so what can I expect? Does it take like a month to dispatch and arrive?

Of my two recent orders, one arrived in full in exactly 2 weeks. The other was split up into 2 deliveries. One arrived in 3 weeks, one is on the way but is already looking like at least 5 weeks.

Just got 2 of my 3 Amazon UK shipments from my 9/8/20 order, so 2.5 weeks to the U.S.

My last 5 orders took 13, 12, 12, 13, and 9 days from dispatch to receipt in California. I still have a shipped but not received order that is 15 days old and counting. Most of my purchases ship within 2 to 5 days when everything is in stock with no preorders. If I have an order with one or more preorders, they more often than not hold everything until the preorders are released. Occasionally they will split the order.

I see no reason not to stick with rarewaves, the shipping is free and the prices are about the same if not better. Sure its snail delivery but for $8CAD Arrows I can live with that.

Do you go for 'standard shipping' (cheapest) or the AmazonGlobal shipping? Apparently they try to estimate the import fees with the global option and pay that on your behalf.

I initially ordered with standard shipping but for some reason it never shipped after 4 days so I just canceled it. Not sure if that was the wrong option or there was some other hold up. Debating if I should try again

I ordered 2 blus in stock direct from amazon (88 films releases-1 new release/1 older one). I chose standard shipping. It took 6 days to ship then 7 more days to receive them. It actually showed up in my USPS informed delivery the day of shipment ! then cleared customs in UK then was with shipping partner in New Jersey earlier this month.

There are no customs fees if you are in the US -- unless you order 800+ and even that is questionable.

AGS used to be barely more than Std and often for certain number of items it sometimes was cheaper, avoided Asendia, and had useful tracking - none of those was common with std. I had gotten to the point preCovid I virtually never used std since it was only a couple dollars more to use AGS and get faster tracked packages.

Recently AGS/AGE/AGP all seemed to be about the same some no real reason to use AGS. Now I'm either going to bump to Priority or stay cheap and bit my lip -- depending on how fragile or how much I care about the actual packaging.

New change: It looks like they take out less when they remove VAT for US customers. Previously I would multiply the pounds by 0.833333 (=5/6) to calculate how much VAT would be removed. I just placed an order where the factor works out to multiplying by 0.9125. For a roughly £75 order, my final cost was about $6 more.

Try something -- I don't think they're factoring Vat differently, but are adding US sales tax now

Price * 0.8333 (or divide 1.2) =subtotal price without VAT

Multiply by your US Sales tax rate and see if the subtotal prior to shipping isn't correct,

Someone elsewhere said they were being charged US Sales Tax now, but it appears it's not broken out as a separate line item and just rolled into the price as is typical of VAT inclusive prices. This is the first time I've seen it happen in my acct, but it seems some people in a couple states have had this happening for awhile now. Zavvi has been charging me tax for over a year though they add Tax after the shipping is added but the Sales Tax is shown as a line item so easy to know what the charge is for

Or https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07G2DLVGG
Add 2 copies. Once the 20% VATis removed is almost exactly $100 so should be pretty close to your Sales Tax (1.05 or 1.08 or 1.10). For me the subtotal price is 106.72 ( my sales tax is 6.75% so almost exact)
