Apparently the rest of my Christmas sale stuff is coming today.
It's only taken Royal Mail 2 weeks ![]() I do partly blame ATA for even using them during their strikes and having to constantly order BOGOF discs separately from everything else because the discount codes don't work with them Yeah first world problems but I got better things to do than sit around waiting for late deliveries. |

Happily, my Violet Evergarden box showed up today. So glad I went all-region, since as far as I know they haven't even announced a U.S. issue yet.
Did anyone receive the anime-on-line mystery blu-ray set? I ordered one but haven't gotten it yet, and was wondering what I'm in for (or what kind of things I'm in for, if all of them aren't the same titles). |

Most of mine were FedEx, they were using them for the big orders and Royal Mail for the smaller ones, not sure where the cut off point is because 8 blu-rays still needed a fairly sizable box to ship them in.

Well after I asked them about my Mystery Boxes from 2 weeks ago I got a shipping notice via Fed Ex so they must have just forgot, lol. So waiting on that and another Royal Mail order, plus VE Movie 4K and FBC 2 4K from AoL.

Thanks, kiyozi. I have the "Psychoelectric Girl" LE (I enjoyed that one), and "Girl In Twilight" (which I found so boring I didn't make it past episode two), but the others are new to me (presuming the selections in each box are the same, of course).
Glad I didn't order the DVD bundle, since I have all of those except "Venus Versus Virus" (never even heard of that). Started to watch the 4K Violet Evergarden movie last night. It looked fantastic. |

So I watched my copy of the Violet Evergarden 4K LE and notice 2 errors in the subs that you don't even need to understand Japanese to realize that something is wrong (I double checked with the dub and it's correctly translated there):
1) At 00:58:57 Violet gives the thumbs up at the end of the visit with the sick kid at the hospital and the subs show "About your feet..." instead of "About your fee..." Let's just say that kinda pulls you out of the moment and ruins what would have been an endearing punchline. 2) At 01:13:52 They just arrived on the island and are about to see the Major. Subs read "It seems like they don't have names here," when what was actually meant was that the Major doesn't use his real name here. After spotting the first mistake I tried paying more attention with the rudimentary Japanese that I know, but it seemed fine except for point #2. There might have been other obvious issues before the first one that slipped me since I wasn't as focus, but probably someone actually fluent would be able to add to this list. It's disappointing since I specifically wanted the UK release because they had the fixed subs for the tv series. I'll contact them later on to let them know, but I doubt they'll do anything to fix this, unless someone is able to provide a much longer list of issues or that many complain. I wonder if the eventual US release will have the same subs, corrected ones or perhaps even worst ones? |

It's too bad about the subtitle script, because it's a great looking release otherwise. I was focused on the story when I watched it, as I hadn't seen the film yet and I mainly wanted to see how the story wrapped up. Even so, I did notice a number of strange grammatical issues in the subtitles. If the subtitle script comes from an Asian release, that makes sense. It's a shame, because I wouldn't be too excited about buying another release of this film after dropping $90 on this edition.
