Waterworld is not as bad a film as people say it is, but I think it's just that there were high expectations with the film...the budget was really high. I haven't watched it in a few years so I'd definitely rent it in Blu, but I'd pass on buying it. The guy that saaid he left in the theaters and would buy the movie just to point out some errors is crazy...buy something else you actually enjoy.

Some people find enjoyment in complaining about videos.

That must be one hell of a hobby pro movie complainer.
Maybe they will add that to the Olympics.

Love Waterworld movie and soundtrack. Postman was good, too. But I enjoy most movies. Not sure we ever needed to know the Mariner's name, though, from the ABC cut.

I found this movie entertaining enough that I'll buy it if the BD version is released.

Negative. I was quite disappointed in it. Mostly the second half though.

Definitely in time. I'm thinking not too much time either. Man...all that Blue would look great in Blu.

Great movie, excellent sound track. The PQ should be amazing on this movie!

My wife really enjoys this movie - I've yet to let her convince me to watch it.

I know she prefers the ABC cut, and from what I've heard/read, that seems to be the general consensus so I hope they release that version on Blu whenever it does get released.

I'd definitely buy it for her. And I'd probably even watch it if the transfer was decent.

And honestly, don't they still need to make back some money on this movie?

Waterworld is a must have for me, and I'll also take The Postman. Both Costner films are entertaining enough for multiple viewings.

I know this film was a commercial flop or whatever.
But I understood there was quite a fanbase for this movie, I see there are some people here too.
Well, I sure enjoyed this movie multiple times and it would look and sound great in HD.

Now, I found that there's actually an extended cut the fans really want to see.
However, despite the many requests, it still hasn't been released fully on DVD.
Only some bootlegged version from TV or something, I guess that ABC-version mentioned multiple times,
which wasn't even the right version apparently.
There should be about 40 minutes extra, making it nearly 3 hours.
I really wonder what all that should be, can't wait to see it.

So I really hope to see the full-on film appear on BD some time.
Perhaps even with branching between the Theatrical Cut and Director's Cut or something.
I doubt they find this film to be important enough, but still, it would be great.
They should just make this thing top-quality, so everyone would just enjoy to look at it.
