Actually, I don't think that Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete is slated for a DVD release. It was, as far as I know, only released on BD in Japan, and if I haven't completely gotten this wrong, it will be the same for the rest of the world.
Sure, the regular version of the movie was released in 2005, but the extended Complete version only seems to be available on BD.

But I don't actually believe it will happen.
The studio is the one dumping hundreds of millions of dollars into production and marketing of his film. No way in hell he can prevent them from trying to release it on DVD. He doesn't own it, they do.

I think it will be a movie released later down the road like Transformers:RotF and if that was the first so many people would probally buy a blu-ray player just to own Transformers 2
Last Blu-ray Watched: Guardians of the Galaxy (PQ 5/5, AQ 5/5, MOVIE 5/5)
Last Blu-ray(s) Bought: Mad Max: Fury Road (BB Steelbook) & Big Bang Theory Season 8
Most Wanted Blus: 1941, Bad Boys II, and True Lies

He'd obviously state it in his contract with the studio.

No studio would sign it.

The same story with Da Vinci Code. Frankly, I don't consider alternate cuts of movies to be different movies, I consider them to be different editions of the same movie.

I'd say it will be Disney, with a catalog title, sometime in 2010 or early 2011.

As for a new release, that won't happen for at least three years.
Catalog title being released only on Blu-ray is relatively common. They're often the same "edition" as the DVD, but other times are remasters and other things like that. Sometimes they're new scans/remasters with the same artwork and extras as a previous DVD edition.

Exclusive to BD means that it will have never been on DVD and won't be on DVD at release and won't be DVD in the future. And I don't think Disney would be a fair one to consider, because when they finally do their first "BD-only release", it'll include a DVD version in the package too.

And actually, dudes, the profit margins are a lot thicker on Blu-ray, so if they can pick a title that might get nearly 20% market naturally, the thicker profit margin might be worth alienating the folks who would refuse to upgrade or pay a little more. I mean, if you only make BD available, the BD version will sell more; it's just a question of the point where the slight gain in BD is worth throwing away the DVD edition's per-instance lower profit margins.

i responded to someone who said it will never happened.

i used the dark knight as an example... lets try Epic Movie then. or anything released the past 3 or 4 years.

my point was VHS died off. so will dvds at some point.

maybe the OP's answer wont happen for a few years. but im sure it will
