There was a Channel 5 special a few weeks ago, but like a lot of the really big 70s BBC comedians - Tarbuck, Dawson, Harry Worth, Dave Allen*, The Goodies until Network rescued the shows - it's as if all the traces are being covered over.

* Allen may be a special case: his contracts used to have a single repeat only clause which they got around with compilations on TV after his death, but even those are AWOL on home video exept for one compilation disc and an edited version of various live acts. A tragedy because he was probably the most brilliant standup of his era.
Indeed it's a great shame Allen saw it that way, yet I think he had his reasons. The first series of Dave Allen at Large was repeated shortly after his death over Christmas 2005, the only instance of repeats beyond the eighties.

I don't personally mind if television is finished with the likes of Dawson, Worth, The Goodies and repeats, just as long as the DVDs are out there - although I would fully support a channel like Talking Pictures getting their hands on the shows.

Tarbuck is a different case since he mainly presented variety shows, showcases and gameshows. With the exception of Sunday Night at the London Palladium, there has never been a big enough market for such programmes on DVD to cover the various licensing costs and I have reservations that the paperwork would even exist or be entirely accurate. Still, Network managed to give us The Kenny Everett Video Show and I never imagined, even in its edited form, we would get half of what is included on that set.

I always seem to forget that he was in that... the sequence that he's in is easily the most creative part of the movie.

I can remember when you could buy No Sex Please, We're British on VHS in Woolies for a tenner...

God, I'm really showing my age now.

The german blu ray of Waterloo, which came out last year, is actually quite reasonable, and can be got for 5 or 6 occasionally in one of the amazon.de sales.

Per Facebook comments on DVDBeaverites, Monty Lewis is producing new extras for the Blu-ray, and is also working on a book about the film.

I was wondering the same. Keep considering it, especially now as it's 8.99 again...what's the verdict? It's a Sony master so it's bound to be pretty good master, just the encode I'm curious about.

Is the Japanese release of Drowning by Numbers out-of-print? Been considering for a long time, whether to get Mediumrare's Blu-ray release or not.

I can't think of any compelling reason not to just go for the UK release.
