CDJapan doesn't list any subtitles for it.

CDJapan is a good source for such info but aren't foolproof as they don't list any subtitles for Baccano either.

Checked the Japanese website, and no subtitles whatsoever are listed.

Now where are Seasons 5 and 6?! Or better yet, re-release Seasons 1-4 (since Seasons 1 and 2 were DVD-only anyway) and then release Seasons 5 and 6 so that the packaging is completely consistent.

NISA still holds the license for Seasons 1-4, and Aniplex is NOT the international rightsholder for those seasons.

Seasons 1-3=TV Tokyo
Seasons 4-6=ADK

That really sucks because NISA isn’t doing anything with the license anymore, and why the hell has no one gone to bat for Seasons 5 & 6?? We just want the complete series, damn.

The NA distributor is the one who usually confronts the Japanese licensor (whom they have to pay a minimum guarantee to), not the other way around. It's possible Crunchyroll has home video rights for S5 and S6.

Don't be surprised if Crunchyroll have home video rights to both Season 5 & 6 considering they got the OVA episodes from the JP home video releases. And it's anyone's guess if AoA will be interested in the releases these two seasons on home video. We don't even know if AoA will even release this movie on home video yet. It's a wait and see...

Such a shame NISA losing interest in licensing anime/getting pushed out (licensing costs have skyrocketed to above these from the prior bubble) created a bit of a mess.

So spending that kind of money on Sgt. Frog and never got to release it unless there’s some extremely rare DVD Volume for it and spending all that time trying to get the TV Networks to air it which never happened even though they were interested in airing it. Couldn’t get it to work out in time. That’s pretty harsh and then the rights going to Funimation who only released the 1st 3 Seasons. Funimation’s Dub reminds me of the Toonami English Dub for Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo but Uncut.

ADV Films had also licensed Gurren Lagann but yet that license went nowhere and ended up with Bandai who released it as Subtitle-only and later with the English Dub.

It was speculated around that time that Sojitz was overpaying for titles on purpose for a hostile takeover of ADV Films, who was by far the largest anime licensor at the time. FUNimation meanwhile was kinda a blip on the radar, them getting all those titles due to ADV's fallout with Sojitz changed things, along with Geneon going under a year prior and getting many of their titles for good prices. But anyway that was what licensing costs used to be, I've heard they're now higher than those, mainly thanks to China which has become quite the market for anime. This is likely one of the main reasons NISA stopped licensing anime, they got pushed out with licensing costs soaring, FUNimation and Crunchyroll bidding wars (which led to the short-lived FUNiroll deal-Sony is who broke it up, not CR or FUNi).........

Might be new irrc. I know it has been on and off of Netflix (US) for a bit. So new to Funi. I wouldn't doubt it has been on CR for a bit?

Fate/Zero has definitely been available on Crunchyroll ever since it first aired. I know this because it's been like that over here in the UK (to provide context: even though MVM has UK rights they don't care about streaming so AoA does the streaming part for us). It is interesting that outside of the newer titles, the older ones that Aniplex are adding onto Funimation aren't on the UK side (some are understandable because of Anime Limited & Manga, but others like Fate don't make sense).

Anywho on the topic of Natsume, I'm surprised the movie is getting released in the end and at the same price as Pancreas and Mahouka the Movie so that's good news at the very least. Given the consistency with the films in cinemas coming to home video, that very likely means CENCOROLL CONNECT and Rascal Dreaming Girl will also get a Blu-ray release in the end. The question I'm most curious is whether they'll get the Saekano movie.

Nope, been there for nearly 8 years, this is where it was first simulcast along with NicoNico (they used to simulcast anime outside Japan).
