Default New BenQ HT8050 UHD 4K Projector ---> no 3D support

I was just reading about the new BenQ HT8050 UHD 4K projector. It is listed on ProjectorPeople.com. For some reason it does not have HDR.

As exciting as this new BenQ HT8050 seems, there is no 3D support in this projector. Very disappointing news.

Quote:
BenQ HT8050 4K Capable UHD Home Cinema Projector

The world's first DLP 4K capable UHD home cinema projector, HT8050 achieves prestigious THX HD Display Certification to deliver authentic reproduction of the director's vision, rivaling the picture quality of a commercial digital cinema.
NOTE: further down the page we answer some common questions about the HT8050 and 4K signals in general.

The HT8050 produces 8.3 million distinct pixels for dazzling clarity without panel-related artifacts; THX Certification for extraordinary picture quality with cinematic image quality with absolute Rec. 709 color accuracy and stunning 50,000:1 dynamic contrast for an ultra-realistic widescreen film viewing experience. With intelligent functionality and installation flexibility, HT8050 is comprehensively equipped to integrate seamlessly into any upscale home cinema.
The price remains a mystery. One has to call ProjectorPeople.com to get the price.

Most of the DLP 4K Projectors do not support 3D, although, there is a rumor that the Optoma UHD65 could support 3D.

According to a well regarded reviewer BenQ will be releasing a firmware update that adds 3D and HDR to both the HT8050/HT9050 by end of year.

Yep like the UHD60/UHD60 but there is also an Optoma UHZ65 laser projector coming out in fall.

Apparently some DLP manufacturers like BenQ will be offering 3d firmware upgrades. It is yet to be seen if Optoma will be.
