Default Roku on Clearance at Wal-Mart

I was in Wal-Mart yesterday, and to my surprise they had the Roku's on Clearance. The Premiere+, usually $89, was marked down to $40. The Ultra was marked down to $64. Take advantage while you can.

Premiere is $40, Premier+ is $74, Ultra is $64. If they aren't on the regular shelf, ask the electronics person where they are. My store had them all locked in a cage behind the electronics counter.

Why they have the Ultra lower than the Premiere+ is a mystery to me

I have an LG OLED c6p television. I have been using the Roku 2016 streaming stick for a while but just hooked up the Roku Ultra. My streaming stick had nice deep blacks but the Ultra seems kind of grey even when hooked up to the same HDMI port. Why is this? It's very noticeable. Even the black bars on the top and bottom of extra wide movies are grey. Those bars used to blend in perfectly with the actual black bezel of the TV. Hoping to find a fix because while watching Guardians of the Galaxy 2 in UHD there were a few scenes that were underwhelming because of it

Here are some comparison pictures. Even taking a picture of the screen shows how drastic of a difference it is. All the settings of the TV are identical. I even tried changing HDMI cables in case that was the issue.

I wanted to watch the few UHD movies I have in Vudu but now I'm holding off again until I can get the picture fixed.

Have you tried adjusting the Ultra's display settings? Is the OS up to date? I believe there was an issue with version 7.2-7.4 (fixed in 7.5) with colors being washed out.

Mine updated from 7.7 to 8.0 after I manually did check for updates. I don't see anything to adjust any settings other than to change from 4:2:2 (Dolby Vision which the Ultra doesn't even support so why it's an option is beyond me) to 4:2:0

I don't see any such thing with my Ultra, black bars are deep and blend in just great with my TV. I also have updated to 8.0

There aren't any settings to change or adjust so what would cause this and how do I fix it?

You said the TV settings are the same, so hard to really guess without seeing it in person. The only thing I can think of, is that if the settings returned to factory (display) settings, everything would be too bright and colors washed out because of this. Or if you connected to an HDMI port you had never used or programmed with the picture settings, as each input can typically be set to separate, unique settings, to accommodate the device connected to that particular port.

Do you have the display type set as 4K or 4K 10-bit?

I tried Auto Detect and then I tried 4K 60Hz HDR (I think it was the last option on the list but I would have to find it again). The thing is it's not just on 4K content. The pictures I took are of the opening to Lego Batman in HDX.

On the LG c6p there is the option to pick "apply to all inputs". I did this in a couple places so all of my inputs are actually the same. But I have the issue regardless of which HDMI port I use. I used HDMI 3 at first and then HDMI 2 (both the stick and the Ultra on each port) and the results were the same
