I wonder if 4K will see a package change, if you ask me the current Blu-ray cases are wasting space that could be used for the artwork. Instead of shrinking the cases by removing the part with the Blu-ray logo on it increase the size of the artwork, if you look at PlayStation 4's cases it will give you an idea of what I mean. Also black would be a better colour as the blue is inappropriate. Ideally returning to DVD cases would be the best thing they could do.

White would be a nice change of pace, IMO.

I'm in love with the black cases, they come with the dawn of the planet if the apes 3D bluray release. I've bought 5 copies just for the case and I swapped it out with my favs and resale them on eBay. I need to buy at least 5 more.

Wolverine 3D also comes with a black case.

The blue cases are lovely. They look so much nicer than DVD collections with all different colour cases. As far as i can recall, i only have two BD's with different colours. Green Lantern has a green case, Black Swan has a clear case i think. I can see a few black ones being nice, maybe for Batman or something like that, but it's a slippery slope to DVD hell and red, yellow and pink cases everywhere.

88 films have recently been releasing their slasher collection in cases that are red. They look just like HD DVD cases. I can't help but feel that I have ended up back where I started with it all. 88 films slasher classics collection are probably the last Blu-ray's I will ever buy.

I was reluctant to buy any of them though because a lot are mastered in 4K such as Graduation Day it even has a sticker on the front saying so.

Needless to say they are a nice way to bookend my Blu-ray Disc collection.

For me, Blu cases should be Blue, no exceptions. I'm a purist when it comes to this, and really like the Blue plastic.

The problem with red, black, etc. Blu cases is that they look too much like regular DVD cases - which IMHO is confusing when sitting on a shelf - even if they're smaller than a regular DVD case.

Why on earth are blue cases inappropriate? It's called Blu-ray, so they are absolutely appropriate.
I don't really care all that much. As long as they aren't puke green, piss yellow, or pink.

@BluYoda: Although it's a Japanese release, I noticed this title in your "wanted" sig list so I nevertheless wanted to mention . . .
