I doubt we will see ash vs evil dead on 4k. But hopefully army of darkness is coming along with the evil dead remake (4k on itunes).

AOD should be in the works since the international cut got a 4K scan recently and all the legal fist-fighting between the various rights holders has been put to rest. Oddly, the current version available for International screenings is apparently the Director's Cut, but I have found no information that suggests it is a newer 4K master and it appears to simply be an old HD master from the MGM release 16 years ago.

Any updates on this? Evil Dead 2 has now had international release (I have the U.S copy and Australian copy) you think Universal would jump on this since they are releasing lesser films like The Scorpion King

I think the AOD fighting got worked out, which is why it sort of got worked into Ash VS Evil Dead, but it's possible that any 4K release has to be a mutually agreed upon thing between StudioCanal, Universal, and Renaissance Pictures.

What does StudioCanal have to do with it? MGM has the international rights via their ownership of the Orion library, they just license it out to whoever (via Fox) in whatever territory. StudioCanal in the UK, Filmedia in France, Koch Media in Italy and Germany etc.

It's between MGM and Universal to sort out who does what, but with MGM being so reluctant to release anything under their own steam (via their agreement with Fox) then the onus is very much on Universal to get the ball rolling.

The Scorpion King has both The Rock and ties in with The Mummy's tie in 4Ks.
