I was one of those 2018 Oscar-bait movies where it plays in NY and LA (per Academy's rules to be eligible for the '18 Oscars) sometime in December and then plays everywhere else in the country in January.

And how many times are they going to remake The Grinch? Isn't this the 5th or 6th version (live-action included)?

Not sure why you'd have thought there was that many... There was the animated special in the 60s, the Jim Carrey live-action version, and this new CGI version.

Since this bombed, I'd kind of be surprised if a 4K still comes out. Movies have done better and didn't get one.

Amazon already cancelled my order and no other retailer has it as far as I can see, so does not seem to be happening.

My 4K UHD preorder with Best Buy was cancelled.

Initially wasn't interested in the movie, but saw "Welcome to Marwen" as part of a Q&A series and thought it was surprisingly good. Steve Carell's performance was unexpectedly heartfelt and sympathetic, while the storytelling technique added some distance to the brutality in the story.

Why would carell be "unexpectedly sympathetic and heartfelt" considering he was nailing that for many years as Michael Scott on the Office.

Oh. I swear I have seen that many in the last 10-15 years. Maybe it was another cartoon/live-action remake(s) that I was thinking of. Cat in the Hat, perhaps(?).

So there’s no 4K disc of Welcome To Marwen. Looks like Welcome To Marwen 4k is only digital.

Shame I really enjoyed this film and would of loved a 4k release. I will be picking this up on Blu Ray.

I watched the Blu-ray of this yesterday, which I finally bought, because I really wanted to see the movie, and this soooo much needed a UHD. The daylight scenes in particular (with whitetish faces etc.), but darker scenes as well and I was also painfully reminded of how much better UHDs tend to look in the darker areas of the image compression wise alone. And that's coming from my SDR projector perspective.

Movie wise it's a shame as well if I consider what crap is getting the UHD treatment sometimes. I thought it was a wonderful movie.
