Default Things you like to see come out on 4K Blu-ray

Me the 3 things I hope to see come out are The Hobbit Trilogy Extended Edition and The Lord of the Rings Extended Edition Trilogy and The Dark Knight Trilogy which movies are you looking for to come out on 4K.

Lawrence of Arabia and the Alien films would make me happy. I would have led with Lawrence though, even the streaming version is sublime, I would imagine the full bitrate release is a treat.

APOCALYPSE NOW would make my day. More than anything else I look forward to the potentially expanded color space of the format.

The Dark Knight trilogy. The IMAX footage already looks incredible on blu ray. Imagine with 4K and atmos!

Interstellar. Same thing.

Inception. Awesome Visuals and Atmos.

Hateful 8 hopefully when it comes out.

Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Star Wars ORIGINAL CUT. Boom. Said it.

Indiana Jones trilogy.

I know Sony could do The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo... In fact I believe the CGI was mastered in 4K but I could be wrong....

Star Wars. I've seen it so many times. If I could notice a 4k upgrade's enhancements right away, It would be Star Wars.

I would probably buy the first two Spider-Man movies and hope to see them knowing they already did the Mastered in 4K line a couple years ago.

I held back on The Lord of the Rings Trilogy because I enjoy my extended cut packaging so much I would end up keeping it anyway. I've been considering a Vudu Disc to Digital upgrade on these for awhile though...

Others are the same as previous posters: Inception, Interstellar, probably Dark Knight and anything originally filmed on 65/70mm film. Our copies of Lawrence of Arabia, My Fair Lady and Ben-Hur all look absolutely stunning already.

Apocalypse Now, Blade Runner, Fight Club

250 or so movies from my list rated 8 or higher, those are movies I would double dip on.

Some of them I don't own (yet) on Blu-ray for various reasons. Could be MPEG-2 codec, no lossless audio option, poor transfer.

Anything released from January 2014 when I stopped (paused) buying movies in anticipation of UHDBD - Interstellar comes to mind on top of that list. The Force Awakens is a given (for me).

Of the launch titles I'd buy The Martian, Days of Future Past, Sicario, Fury Road.

The Revenant and Hateful Eight out of recent cinema releases.

Movies that haven't seen any BD release like Punch-Drunk Love.

Totally hoping Criterion gets on the UHD-wagon with a release of The Grand Budapest Hotel.

I'm with you on MPEG-2 releases. I don't think I've seen one that I thought did the Blu-ray any justice.

So you really haven't bought anything in over 2 years?

I have one MPEG-2 that was announced as AVC: Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, but that's the only one in my collection.

Continued buying (all) Criterion Collection, TV-shows and Disney Diamond Editions - but waiting for impressions of 4K before I start again - either with BD only or silently adopting UHD. I don't expect buying a player until fall/holidays and replacing my current 1080p projector seems far off right now. If they really won't sell UHD+3DBD+BD at all I guess I would pick up some 3D releases like the aforementioned Interstellar.

Edit:
Did the same in 2006 when Blu-ray and HD-DVD were on the horizon - stopped buying DVDs for a while - have only bought a few that came packaged with CDs since then.

Some Ghibli's were picked up as well.

👻Scream 1,2,3 & 4👻
I Know What You Did Last Summer & I still Know What you Did Last Summer
Urban Legend, Urban Legend 2: Final Cut & Urban Legend 3: Bloody Mary
🔪Halloween, 2,3,4,5,6,H20 & 8🔪

I suspect Halloween will be available for it's 40th in 2018, as for the rest I think only Scream stands a chance. There's loads of others as well but they probably stand even less of a chance.

Not entirely related but I have a buddy who believes Vivid Entertainment helped make BR a success. He also doesn't buy anything on BR if it isn't a modern release because of some belief about there being no point since "it wasn't shot in HD".

Basically we don't talk about physical media anymore...
